GREENSFORK, April 15. Greenfork -will have five applicants for the post office take the civil service examination next Saturday at Richmond for the poatmastership here. Earl Ridge and family spent Easter in Richmond, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Stuart. The Rev. Virgil Brock, of Earlham, came over Monday evening, calling on a friend. Dr. Kerr's mother of Newcastle, is spending the week with the Dr. and his family. J., F. Clawson has purchased the Davis restaurant. Oliver Gaylor la having his store building repainted. The Philathae class of the M. E. Sunday school and their teacher, Mrs. Carrie Crump, gave a birthday surprise social on Monday evening at Dr. Neff's in honor' of the seventeenth birthday of Miss Louise Neff, a member of the class, they spent the evening in social games, with refreshments, presenting Miss Neff with a fine cluster of white and pink carnations. Those present were the Misses Blanche Conway, Estelle King, Helen Roller, Emily Atkinson, Agnes Cain, Clara Weidman, Mildred McMullen, Ruth Smith and Dorothy Brown. The evening was greatly enjoyed by all and long to be remembered. Rev. Mitchel gave us our first sermon for the coming year Sunday at 10 :Sy. There were over one-hundred present and well pleased with the sermon and the preacher. Mrs. Good, of Richmond, came over for a few days visit. George Zarkleson and his sister came over from Richmond Sunday and spent a few hours with Miss Helen Roller. Mrs. Charles Bennett and children spent Easter in Richmond. Miss Nora Roller is home from Richmond for a few days. Miss Corlne Davis spent Sunday at Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Hoover, of Hagerstown,, were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Crump. Mr. and Mrs. Cash Gunther and fam
ily, of Dayton, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Manning over Sunday. Adam Howard went to Richmond Saturday.
