FIFTY MAY ENTER ' BETTER CORII TEST , i Cobb Predicts Results of Hundred Bushel Yield on ContestrPIots.
; Indications are that fifty Wayne County men and boys will enter the better corn growing ' contest conducted by Covnty Agent Cobb, in which the Commercial club is offering f 175 Jn cash prizes,' said Cobb today. Men from all parts of the county have announced their intention of entering the contest, but are deferring action until shortly before the time limit, May 1. To aid the farmers in the selection of their seed corn, testera have been placed in all the county schools. Pupils were instructed in the testing methods last month. All testing will be done in accordance with Mr. Cobb's instruction. The testers in the schools have been taxed to their capacity for some time, and for that reason the agricultural classes have been unable to make tests from all seed corn ears, but can usually examine enough seed to plant five acres. Must Consider Time. In the contest rules five acres is specified as the area to be planted. The space to be entered must be
plainly described before May.l, or it will not Qualify in the contest. Mr. Cobb expects to hare sererml farms growing better than one hundred bushels on the plot cultivated for the contest. This alone will not decide the winner, as the fanner should not spend more time on the plot In the contest than he does on. the remainedr of his farm. He is required to keep an account of hts time, the cost of fertiliser, and even the land Itself is charged at regular rental rates. This 1b done to determine the amount of profit. "The number of bushels to the acre does not count for everything' said Mr. Cobb today. "We are conducting this contest to teach farmers to ralse more corn and do it at less expense. A man raising 110 bushels of corn to the acre, and spending almost the market price to do it, will not stand a show in this contest." ,: The Better Farming Association in Wayne county is now behind the contest, and with the members of - that organization advertising it, . much greater results may be expected;' Mr. Cobb said. - - "

Rheumatic Remedy After Six Years' I
Suffering. "3839 Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago, 111., March 17, 1913. For six years, on and off, just as the weather would change, I have suffered agony from Rheumatism, the pains in my big toe, left foot, knees, hips and groins being almost unbearable. At such times I
hardly dared take a step for fear of!
another attack. I spent many dollars and became thoroughly disgusted with so-called Rheumatic remedies, until I tried RHEUMA. I was buying some liniment when your Peoria, 111. agents recommended your remedy. I have since asked physicians to prescribe RHEUMA for Rheumatism. The train crews on the Rock Island Railroad, who saw me limping along using a cane, will verify my statements. Yours most sincorely," J. K. Greenburg, News Agent, Rock Island Railroad. Anybody can afford to pay 50 cents to get rid of terrible Rheumatism, Sciatica, .Gout, Lumbago, and that's all RHEUMA costs at Leo H. Fine's, and he says if It does not do all that Is claimed for it, money back. RHEUMA costs very little, but it is one of tho best remedies you can find to drive Rheumatic poisons from the system and bring back perfect health.

A Simple Remedy to Correct Constipation Before It Becomes -Chronic. Very few people go through lrfe without some -time or other being troubled with .constipation. Thousands Injure themselves by the use of strong cathartics, - salts, mineral waters, pills and similar things. They have temporary value in some cases, it is true, but the good effect is soon lost, and the more one takes of them the less effective they become. A physic or purgative is seldom necessary, and much better and ' more permanent . results can be obtained by using a scientific remedy like Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin. It does not hide behind a high sounding name, but is what it is represented to be, a mild laxative medicine. It is so mild that thousands of mothers give it to tiny infants, and yet It is so compounded and contains such definite Ingredients that it, will have equally, good effect when .used by a person suffering from the worst chronic constipation. In fact, among the greatest endorsers of Syrup . Pepsin are elderly people who have suffered for years and .found nothing to benefit them until they took Syrup Pepsin. It is a fact that millions of families have Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin constantly in the house,- homcB like those of Mr. H. W. Fenstermaker, Siegfried, Pa. He says he has had wonderful results from the UBe of Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin, that, in fact, he has never found a remedy so good, and he is glad to recommend it. The special value of this grand laxative tonic is

MR. H. W. FENSTERMAKER that it is suited to the needs of every member of the family. It is pleasanttasting, mild and non-griping. Unlike harsh physics, it works gradually and in a very brief time the stomach and bowel muscles are trained to do their Work naturally again, when all medicines can be dispensed with. You can obtain a botle at and drug store for fifty cents or one dollar. The latter size is usually bought by families who already know' its value. Results are always guaranteed or money will be refunded. Families wishing to try a free sample bottle can obtain it postpaid by addressing Dr. W. B. Caldwell, 419 Washington street, Montcello, Illinois. A postal card with your name and address on it will do.
