PAGE TWO s THE RICHMOND PALLADIUM AND SUN-TELEGRAM,
Do you want 56 vacant business rooms? Do you want value of business property depreciated? Do you want to throw 250 men out of work? Do you want whiskey sold by the quart instead of beer by the drink? Do you want to kill the local cigar making industry? Do you want to force the abandonment of public improvements? Do you want to close Minck's brewery to boom the business of the whiskey mail order house? Do you want to force the raising of the tax rate? Do you want to drive 250 men and their families from Richmond? Or do you want to force them on the labor market here in competition with men who now have a job? Do you want to cut off $14,000 of the city's revenue? Do you want the right to buy beer for your family use denied you? Do you want liquor sold by the deceptive, secretive "retail liquor store" with a government license rather than the open, public, regulated saloon? Do you want to start the habit in Richmond of compelling you by law to think as somebody else does and live your life according to their ideas? Do you want to kick out the conditions that have made Richmond famous for its soberiety, prosperity and progress ? Do you want your boy brought up amid regulated saloons that won't sell him and which he knows he musn't enter, or pool rooms and "clubs" and "soft drink parlors" that catch him before he is aware of their character? Do you want liquor sold in unlimited quantities by blind tigers which are protected by law and which no jury in Wayne county has ever been able to convict? Do you want five yeras of hell holes like Marion, or a city full of empty business houses like liokomo?
