THE RICHMOND PALLADIUM AND SUN-TELEGRAM, WEDNESDAY MAR. 11, 1914 (SAM DAVIS Motor Gars for the coming season contain a line so broad that most every individual requirement is represented. DAVIS cars range from the choice of the most fastidious, in a big six cylinder car fitted with either five or six passenger bodies, at the buyer's option, to the serviceable small car that bears the blunt of business usage, but retains a refinement and an individuality that suits it also for family use.

"DAVIS" cars are also equipped with Westoh-Mott axles, which are as good as can be purchased in any market, and, together with the annular ball-bearings, make a car that seems to glide, instead of run. The bearings furnish so little friction that the car may be easily pushed forward or back by hand. The Gray & Davis starting and lighting devices, Mea high tension magneto, Sheldon springs, and in fact, all the Standard
is equipped with the world famous Continental motor, which, at a conservative rating, develops fifty horse power and under test as much as sixty-four horse power. This motor is modern in every respect, having a long stroke, the new balanced crank shaft, silent chain, and many other features which bring it far above the average. The Continental superiority was proven to us in exhaustive tests, carried on over the rugged mountains of Pennsylvania, the gumbo districts of Illinois and Iowa and the speedy boulevards of the larger eastern cities. Our agents in New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, etc., are intensely enthusiastic over our "speed and power." material and parts that are used in the best motor practice will be found in the delightful Davis design. The next "DAVIS" in size is the powerful 4-50 A, which has proven its worth in the past and will continue to do so. We feel safe in saying that this particular car did as much toward making "DAVIS" reputation as any other part of our institution.
In many ways we are harder to convince than the most particular patron, because our reputation and success is dependent on the performance of our product. The motor vehicle is likened to a chain, (no stronger than its weakest link) and therefore we see to it that "Davis" links are of the strongest. The Warner transmission is built in, perhaps, the best equipped factory for the manufacture of transmissions in the country and with millions of capital behind them they furnish a transmission that is hard to obtain elsewhere. The Warner transmission in DAVIS cars is equipped with imported annular ball bearings and under all the tests that we have been able to devise, the (gear box) has made itself a minor factor through its uncomplaining service. In all important features the 4-50 A is similar to the 6-50;' the motor, however, having four cylinders with a bore of and stroke of 52 inches. The motor develops an unusual amount of power at medium speeds, and accelerates with suck a dash and vim that it has surprised even the most experienced of the "motor wise.

Then the DAVIS 35-J, which is a small "four-cylinder," having the latest and most modern devices and refinements. The Continental motor is again in prominence, and, with its 80,000 patrons, not even the shadow of skepticism is available. This motor has a bore of 3) and a stroke of 5 inches, which shows upon the face of it, a guarantee for economy in operation. Again the Weston-Mott axles are used, and together with many other features, the public is surprised when this car is compared with other cars at similar price. The Westmghouse combination magneto and generator together with their starting device, is only associated with cars of much higher price. The name Westmghouse alone is an adequate guarantee of satisfaction and service.
It will be noticed that the entire "DAVIS" line is made up of distinctively new and modern designs. Our own conservative taste is combined with the latest "Stream-line" practice abroad, making a line of cars that carry beauty and grace to the last issue. The purchaser of "DAVIS" cars need have no fear of having old, out-of-date and shop-worn material palmed off onto them. In fact, we invite prospective purchasers and those interested in automobile construction to call and inspect our thoroughly modern plant and equipment. We will also be glad to give educational demonstrations in regard to our cars and the modern ideas used in their construction.

PdMLIKST
As the automobile manufacturing business continues and its foundations become more secure, the manufacturers who have stood the acid tests of time must have adopted a policy of manufacturing and marketing their product that will compare with the best economic ideas of the day. The DAVIS ideal throughout this campaign has been one of untiring search for the best in materials and mechanics. Suppose, Mr. Customer, you are with us on an educational trip through our plant, and we have the unvarnished material and parts used in our cars before us. Naturally the first object of discussion will be the power plant, and of that we are glad to talk. The Continental motor is manufactured by the largest motor manufacturing institution in the world and this corporation has behind it not only years of experience, but millions of dollars of capital, which is ready at any moment to defend their product against the improvement that time brings forth. The Continental has behind it many of the best engineering minds of the world, and their idea is always for advancement. It will be interesting to know that every Continental motor is contracted for and sold months before it has even been shaped into a motor by master mechanics in the world and that eighty thousand Continental motors are in every day use in pleasure cars and commercial trucks. Consider this and think of the degree of accuracy that may be had in such an institution. There are tools in the Continental works that have no rivals for accuracy and quick production in the world. In the Continental you may have a better
motor, one that may be compared with those in the very highest priced cars, at a cost which allows us their use in DAVIS cars, at the price already quoted. It has been our policy to use nothing in our cars that has not been proven by time and personal tests, and, having an institution behind it to vouch for the service we demand for our patrons. We have a standard car, made from the best parts offered on a standard market, and we can, in that respect, offer our patrons incomparable service in the future. The Geo. W. Davis Motor Car company will be glad to furnish a list of DAVIS users throughout Wayne county, and surrounding territory and we invite prospective purchasers to consult these users and make their conclusions as to the ultimate worth of "Davis Policy." Listen to the next Davis you see and you will be surprised at the sweet running motor, transmission and axle. In our axle you will hear none of the disagreeable hum and roar that are experienced in some other makes. "DAVIS Cars" are clean cut and every provision is made to take up the wear that naturally comes in all cars. For this reason all annoying rattles and squeaks are eliminated and you may be sure of a smooth operating and noiseless car even after years of service. Now, Mr. Purchaser, we think that it is only fair to you that you may have the privilege of buying a conscientious car and if you will favor us with a call and inspection of our cars and plant, we feel sure that we may interest you in our 1914 models.
