Ed (Ted) Lanning, the "Y" basketball quintet, state title claimants, snowed under the Carthage five at the association gym Saturday night. One l of the largest crowds of the season i saw the game. Four college stars assisted, the risltors. The work of Lanning was easily the ! feature of the game. Ted exhibited the class that rates him one of the most accurate basket-shooters in the state. Lanning is one of the cleanest players in the game, but manages to get the necessary markers just the same. He contributed twelve field goals. Jones opened Saturday night's program by registering a field, but was immediately followed by Lehr, who duplicated. This did not phase"""Dimal" in the least for the latter came right back by dropping another 2-point marker. Lanning by this had gotten warmed up and shot a quartet of fields that gave the locals a big margin Jn the score-book. Lehr, who was the only man on the opposing five that could score occasionally, trapped his third basket. Small, visiting guard, emulated the act of his team-mate by adding one more field to the visitor's score, boosting the same to the 10 count, where it remained undisturbed throughout the rest of the final half. , The locals toyed with the visitors In this half. The "Y" crew scoring a total of 27 points to but 4 of the : Invaders. Smith, the much touted 'center of the Detch team, state title holders at the present, failed to do anything worthy of notice, being held scoreless by Duning, "Y" center. Lehr the Purdue star showed flashes of form, although the effective guarding of Brunton and Parker kept him from getting dangerous. The Winslows,

NEWCASTLE, Ind., March 9. Outplayed in every department of the game, the Newcastle high school basketball five went down to defeat at the hands of the Richmond high aggregation, in a fast contest, Saturday night. The score ended 34 to 21. That Richmond was far too fast for the locals was evident in the first minutes of play, when the .Red and White, by brilliant floor work ran the score into the teens, before the Rose City five had warmed up to the fray. Hoover dribbled the ball around a Newcastle guard and scored. Beisman followed suit, Hoover and Quigg repeated. Lawson, Newcastle center, registered a field, Gordon netted the sphere for a pair of markers, while Thompson boosted tn count with another basket. Hoover added another count just before the close of the half, which ended Richmond 17; Newcastle 8. The second session was easy for the visitors. Largely through the efforts of Hoover and Beisman the Richmond score reached the 34 point mark. Hoover led the scoring with eight baskets, while "Jawn" Beisman registered four times. Quigg, who occupied Ball's position at center, put up a fine game, while Hart and Thornburg of the winners did splendid work. For the losers Gordon and Lawson did the best playing. Nowadays, by asking at any drug store for "Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Hair Remedy," you will get a large bottle of this famous old recipe for about 60 cents. Don't stay gray! Try it! No one can possibly tell that you darkened your hair, as it does tt so naturally and evenly. You dampen a sponge or soft brush with It and draw this through your hair, taking one small strand at a time; by morning the gray hair disappears, and after another application or two, your hair becomes beautifully dark, thick and glossy.
