RICHMOND FACES DESPERATE FIGHT Stivers of Dayton to Furnish Attraction At the Coliseum This Evening.
The Richmond high school basketball team Is In good condition for tonight's battle with Stivers high of Dayton. The game will be played at the Coliseum, followed by a skating party given by the Girls' Athletic association of the school. The Stivers battle Is considered one of the hardest of the season's schedule, as the Dayton school always has turned out first-class teams. According to reports, the record made by the Buckeyes is such as to make the wearers of the Red and White uneasy as to the outcome of the game. Stivers administered a pair of defeats to the locals last season, and the boys hope to avenge these drubbings in the game tonight. Comparative scores made by the two teams this season place them on an equal standing, but the advantage of playing on the home floor out to throw the balance of doubt in Richmond's favor. Quakers Leave For Indianapolis to Meet Little Giants in Fight For Secondary Honors.
With the "Beat Wabash" cry ringing in their ears, the Earlham basketball squad, under Coach Reagan, left this morning for Indianapolis, where the Yellow and , White clashes with the Scarlet of Wabash" in the deciding game of the secondary race, the game to be played at the Indianapolis "Y." A Quaker victory, although not giving the local men a clear title, nevertheless would place, them in a position to claim the secondary honor, as by comparative scores the Quakers have it on the Rose Poly quintet, and a decisive victory over the Scarlet tonight would give Reagan's men the best claim to the rag. Coach Reagan would make no statement as to the probable outcome of the Wabash game, although the leader of the fighting Quakers asserted that Wabash will have to move some to cop tonight's honors, as with the line-
play center, with Hart and Thornburg j.up that started Wednesday's game in-
at guard. Loehr, Bavis, Meranda, Kinder and Johanning will be on the side lines. The skate is scheduled to begin immediately after the game. The athletic association has pledged itself to sell a thousand tickets.

tact, Wabash will find rough going in keeping the larger end of the score in their camp. Much Depends pn Logan. Logan, the sensation of the Poly game, will start at forward with Capt. Rowe. Logan has won a permanent berth with the Quaker outfit, as he has demonstrated in a "couple of games that he has played here that he can hold his own with the best. Kemper, Lancaster and Williams are the other Quakers that will lineup at the first whistle. Earlham has one chance to win and this chance of victory lies in the hands of Coach Retigan. It was learned today that the first shipment of Argentine Republic corn ever received In Wayne county will Boon be offered for sale at Williamsburg at a price less than 55 cents per bushel. This corn was purchased at 45 cents per bushel, freight prepaid to Williamsburg. A Richmond man was the purchaser and he contracted for a carload lot. Wayne county farmers during the last year have been receiving from 62 cents to 79 cents per bushel for their corn, so the Argentine corn offers strong competition to them. Low tarriff on cereals is responsible for the importation of Argentine corn. Whether the South American product is . as nutricious as American grown corn remains to be seen, but it is
said to be grown in as temperate a
