ROSE GETS BUMPS IN QUAKER GAME Fast Earlham Team Still Has Chance to Cop State Secondary Honors in Basket ball Line.

LOGAN SHINING LIGHT

Earlham 39; Rom Poly, 19.

Championship dreams of the Rose Poly basketball ve were bumped last night, when in forty minutes of slambang, rough-and-tumble battling, the Earlham machine, with Herb (Caple) Logan at the -wheel, completely crushed the Engineers by a 39 to 19 count at the Coliseum. The victory ties the fighting Quakers for secondary championship honors, as Rose. Wabash and Earlham have lost practically the same number of secondary games. Last night's victory was witnessed by about two thousand fans. "Without a doubt the largest factor la the Quaker win was the phenomenal work of Herb Logan, diminutive forward, hailing from Blooming-

dale. . Logan displayed the most sensational and classy floor work that

has ever been exhibited on the local

Independents, 17; A. S. M. Co., 9. The Earlham Independents, composed of second string men of the Quaker school bumped the A. S. M. Company basketball chasers last night in the preliminary to the Earlh&m-Rose Poly contest, at the Coliseum, by a score of 17 to 9. The college outfit lead the Hoosiers throughout the entire game; Jumping to the front in the first two minutes of play with baskets by Edwards and Trueblood. The first half was slow and ended with the "rah-rah" boys holding the heavy end of a 10-6 score. The scoring In this session was largely due to the work of center Edwards, who put up a hard, fast and clean game. Winslow also came to the front with a pah of baskets from easy shots. The second half was close. This was largely due to the tight guarding on the part of both quintets. "Frankie" Schalk, who replaced Guyer, at the end position, put up a hard scrap against his heavier opponents. Clements, center of the Seeders,

was easily the bright and shining light for the losers, making a quintet of

Poly captain, and a big loss to tne team play of the Engineers, who. although hopelessly beaten, continued to fight with grim determination. Regulars Show Calibre. Although Logan was the star of the game, the work of the other Quakers must not tie underestimated, as Williams, Row. Lancaster and Kemper come in for a shareof the honors in playing high-cl-Ass basketball. The work of Williams was excellent. The husky guard displayed defensive work surpassed by none. Ross rode his man with a vengeance, and held that worthv to a lone marker, besides working the ball to the fore men again and again. Williams was in the fray at every point of the contest, and deserves much credit for the win. "Cap" Rowe played his usual steady game, contributing to the slaughter with a quintet of fields, several of them of the Rowe special brand of overhead shots. Kemper, though .working against against a giant six tfoot three, and weighing 210 pounds j put up a good game, trapping a trio 1 of baskets while in the game. Lancaster played better than at any pre vlons time this season.

Haggerty Leads Rose. For the engineers Haggerty and' Demming showed the best form, the former caging three fields and cans-; ing the Quaker guards much trouble with his great height. Demming, the' stellar guard, put up a hard, uphill game against the speedy Ixjgan. and j

TAKE SODA FOR' SOURNESS, GAS

OR INDIGESTION

Undigested food delayed in the stomach decays, or rather, ferments, the same as food left in the open air, says a noted authority. He also tells us that Indigestion is caused by Hy

per-acidity, meaning, there is an ex

cess of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which prevents complete digestion and starts food fermentation. Thus everything eaten sours in the stomach much like garbage sours in a can, forming acrid fluids and gases

which inflate the stomach like a toy

balloon. Then we feel a heavy, lumpy

misery in the chest, we belch up gas,

we eructate sour food or have heartburn, flatulence, water-brash or nausea. To get instant relief, he tells us to get a package of 10 grain Sodagen tablets at any pharmacy and take one or two tablets anytime, followed by a tumbler of water, which promptly neutralizes this irritating acid; stops fermentation; absorbs the gaps and sweetens the entire digestive system. A local down-town druggist states that these 10 grain Sodagen tablets are an old favorite antacid constantly prescribed because of their harmlessness, being a compound of Soda, Calcium Carbonate and Magnesia V.
