prove its usefulness at each stage of its progress and will never be in danger of becoming a burden on the city." It also was explained to those present that however much the Guest House may develop and grow the aim will always be to hold the cost of its advantaces down within reach of a
more poorly paid working women and girls." "The tendency, they argue in T. M. C. A.'s and Y. W. C. A.'s is to bo raise the price of board and other faciltiies that the very class who need the help most are unable to secure it. Whatever the Guest House will do in the future it will always keep itself within the reach of the working girl of low wages." When the question was broached as to what would be the nature of the religious element in the Guest House the ladies explained that it would not be made obligatory on any girl to enter any Bible class or other method of religious development but that opportunities of this kind would be prepared for by the management. Strong Moral Force. "We gladly guarantee to the people Of- the community that the religious atmosphere and the moral standards of the organization will be such as to Maintain the institution unspotted." Prof. Russell expressed himself
"highly pleased with the plans of the board of directors and promised loyal support. "I feel," he said, "that the kind of an institution these ladies are planning, for is just what the city needs. They are not fastening 'the dead hand' upon it, which means that it can develop in the future in whatever manner the town demands. By beginning in a modest way they will be sure of each step before taking it and will not involve the community in any burdensome financial risks. I am highly pleased with the outlook and believe we can raise tne money without difficulty. At any rate, I am determined to give the ladies all the support I can." The board of directors iBSued the following statement regarding the religious element: . In order to correct an erroneous report which has been circulated that the "Richmond Guest House" is to be operated under non-religious influences the following statements are being made. The promoters of the project have
been so imbued with the spirit of Christ's teaching "In as much as ye ' have done it unto the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me," that probabbr we have failed .o realize the necessity of impressing upon the public our intention of fostering a common human need of spiritual things. We believe that true Christianity consists not so much in the letter of the institution as in the spirit manifested therein. It is the purpose of the board of directors at all times to surround these girls with such Christian influence as will create an atmosphere in every way elevating and refining. It is also our purpose to encourage a religious life and provide apportunity for spiritual instructions. We are in full sympathy with the Y. W. C. A. and believe their organizations are doing a good work, but after a thorough investigation of the Kleanor homes in Chicago, the Bertha Ballard and Knickerbocker Hall in Indianapolis, the Anna Louise in Cincinnati and others we might mention, we are convinced that such a home can be established with far less expenditure of money and is better suhed to the especial needs of Richmond. It is our purpose to provide every advantage afforded by the Y. W. C. A. without its limitations. howevpr the efforts of the board of directors without the support of the community wiil be futile. Tt is the especial desire of those interested that, this investment shall be one of the populace and not of a few, so let every one join in the movement with interest and accept the motto of (Mir organization "'Extend the Helping Hand." NERVOUS WOMEN

Whatever the cause, we want to say to v every person who needs strength, you need Vinol, our delicious cod liver and iron tonic without oil, as it is the most efficient strength creator we have in our store. 1 would suggest that you should try a meal of any food or foods which you may like, in moderate amount, taking immediately afterwards; a teaspoonful of bisurated magnesia in a little hot or cold water. This will neutralize any acid which may be formed, and instead of the usual feeling of uneasiness and fullness, you will find that your food agrees with you perfectly.
Bisurated magnesia is doubtless the j
best food corrective and antacid known, it has no direct action on the stomach; but by neutralizing the acidity of the food contents, and thus removing the source of the acid irritation which inflames the delicate stomach lining, it. does more than could possibly be done by any drug or medicine. As a physician, I believe in the use of medicine whenever necessary, but I must admit that I cannot see the sense of dosing an inflamed and irritated stomach with drugs instead of getting rid of the acid the cause of all the trouble. Get a little bisurated magnesia from your druggist, eat what you want at your next meal, take some "of the bisurated magnesia as directtd above, and see if I'm not right" ( Advertisement)
