g. o, p:s elect COMMITTEEMEN Republicans to Hold District Convention At Cambridge City. CAMERIDGE CITY, Feb. 9 The Republicans of Jackson township met in convention in this city Saturday treme weather, there was a good attendance, between thirty-five and forty being present. J. E. Gray was chairman and Luther Young, secretary. The meeting was one of marked enthusiasm. The following precinct committeemen were elected: V. A. Woodward, first precinct; Charles Hiatt, second precinct; B. K. Stratton, third precinct; Luther Young, fourth precinct; Abram Rummell, fifth precinct, and Henry Kocher, sixth precinct. Joseph Groves and Charles Routh were elected delegates and Junius Knipe and W. F. Medsker, alternates, to the district convention to be held in Cambridge City, Tuesday. II ICICLE WEDDING Milton Church Goers Keep Cool At Entertainment. MILTOX, Ind., Feb. 9. The Christian Endeavor, at the Christian church gave an entertainment at the church, Friday evening, titled, "An Icicle Wedding." The. church was prettily decorated to represent snow and ice and presented a beautiful appearance. A large crowd was in attendance to witness the farce and enjoy a pleasant evening. The principal characters were the bride and groom. Miss Mildred Warren and Furman McCormick. Their attentants were Miss Ruth McCormick and Vernon Thompson and Miss Minnie Higham and Olin Davis. The bride and her maids were gowned in white with caps and dainty trim-'. mings to represent icicles. The bridal party were attended by the pages, John Posey Jones and Roderick McCormick and six flower girls, the Misses Elizabeth Warren. Sarah Berry, Leon Mustin. Viola White, Elsie McDowell and Ila Hall. Over the bridal altar was arranged a beautiful white bell underneath of which the ceremony was performed in a very serious solemn manner by Albert Ferris personating the minister. At the close of the ceremonies refreshments were served. The remainder of the evening was passed socially in conversation, contests and music. John L. Manlove, of Bentonville, visited his daughter. Mrs. Rich Miles, at Indianapolis, Sunday. The telephone system at Milton is still practically out of commission. Vernon Thompson, of Cincinnati, is spending a feew days at Reochwooc" Farm as the guest of his sister, Mrs. R. P. Lindsay and family. Miss Marian Whitenack returned home from a visit with her uncle anr annt, the Rev. and Mrs. G. M. White nack, of Knightstown, Saturday even ing. Washington Day Meet. The C. W. B. M. met with Mrs. E P. Jones, Friday afternoon. The occasion was celebrated as a Washing ton Day meet and the house decorp tions were in harmony with the Wash ington day. A very interesting pro gram was observed. Refreshmentwere served by the hostesses, Mrs Jones and Mrs. G. A. Borders. Mrs. Horace Hurst, of near Conner? ville, returned from a visit with rein fives at Richmond and Centerville. Saturday. She was the guest of Mrs. j Alice Gresh at Milton. I Miss Mary Jones came home, Fri-! day evening from Earlham to spend over Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. ones. Mrs. Valentine Richardson, east of town, is still quite sick. Santford Little sold a young Jersey cow and calf to Will Scott for $90. Mrs. Rich Miles, of near Bentonville, is at theVMethodist hospital in Indianapolis, where she under went a surgical operation Tuesday. At late reports she was getting along well. Miss Maty Jones entertained as her house guest for the week-end Miss Gladys Wildman, of Whjttier, California, and who is now a student at Earlham. Mrs. Chas. Davis was taken quite sick, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Doty had as their guests over Sunday, their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Thurman and daughter, of Richmond. The furnace has not been doing well at the Christian church and an opening was-raade Saturday morning to see if any trouble existed in the chimney. Gobel entertained at dinner Sunday evening, having as guests Mr. and Mrs. Bert Newman, of Milton, Mrs. Howard Beeson and Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Callaway. Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ingerman joined the company. Mrs. Waltz has moved to the Charley Swinn property, in East Cambridge, recently vacated by Lynn Clark. Mrs. Alvin Miller and Mrs. Ira Swisher, of Richmond, will be the guests of Mrs. F. M. Murray tomorrow. . Mrs. C. E. The work of listing property for taxation was taken up in Preble county Monday by thirteen assessors selected under the provisions of the Warren law.
