SOCIAL GATHERINGS What promises to be an elaborate function of the coming week is the luncheon to be given Saturday, J antra ry 17. at 1 o'clock in the private dining room of the Hotel Westcott. The hostesses will be members of the. Richmond Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. .lames M. Judson is regent. Acceptances have ben received from Mrs. Fiiiiiris Haberly-Robertson. of Fort Wayne, state regent, and Mrs. S. E. Perkins of Indianapolis, regent of the Caroline Scott Harrison chapter of Tncieiiapolis. This is the first time the state regent has visited Richmond, am! the hostesses are delighted at the prospect of having her ns a guest. Mrs. Ingram of Chicago, with several other out-of-town guests are expected to attend. Mrs. Ingram will be the guest c.f Mrs. James M. Jud.-on during her visit here. A chafing dish party was given last v-nitig by Mrs. Omar Hittle at her apartments on North Tenth street. The evening was spent in a pleasant social manner. A delicious supper was served. An informal dancing party, which proved an attractive feature of Friday's social schedule, was given by Mr. and Mrs. Charles McGuire at their home on North Tenth street. A Victrola furnished the music. The evening was spent in dancing and in an informal social manner. A delicious repast was served. Among the dancers were Messrs. and Mesdames. Clarence Gennett, Harry Gennett, Omar Murray, W. O. Crawford, Earl Mann, Will Campbell, Mrs. McCarty of Muncie, and Mrs. Galen Lamb. After Mrs. Frank Crichet's Friday evening dancing class had received its instructions an assembly party was held. Mr. John Aikin, drums, Mr. Brown, piano and Prof. Frederick E. Hicks, violinist, furnished the music. Among the dancers at the assembly were twelve couples, who are members of the Monday Cotillion club. The young people who " attended -were Misses Esther Coate. The bridal altar was composed of evergreens, under which A. J. Holtz of Salem's church performed the ceremony. Miss Edythe Katterjohn, niece of the bride, attired in white satin with a pink net overdress, ami carrying a hunch of white roses, acted as maid of honor. Louis J. The bride was attired in white satin, with shadow lace overdress and carried beautiful American Beauty roses, while the groom wore the ordinary conventional black. A reception was held after the ceremony, which was followed by a candle light three course wedding luncheon. The ices were in the shape of a tiny slipper and of pink and white colors. The bride, one of the city's fairest and most popular young ladies, is the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Yal Bretz. Site possesses such accomplishments as go to making a good companion in life. The groom is an excellent young man with good habits. He has won the esteem of all whom he has come in contact with, as a result is popular with many of our citizens.
