Each detail biencuTig to give guests the pleasant memory of the Vuletide featured the reception-tea given this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Oliver Gaar on East Main street. Mrs. Gaar was assisted in entertaining by her daughter, Mrs. Richard Study. One hundred and fifty guests were received during the hours between 3 and 5 o'clock and 4 and 6 o'clock. Professor Henry Kamp, harpist, furnished the music throughout the afternoon. In the drawing room American beauty roses made an attractive decoration. Roses and ferns were also used in the other rooms. Poinsetta flowers with

ferns and pretty candles were used in ornamenting the dining room where tea was poured. The halls and other apartments were decorated in the Christmas colors. There were several assistants. Mrs. Gaar and Mrs. Study will entertain with a bridge party Friday afternoon.

The dansant to be given Xew Year's afternoon at the Country club by a committee of which Miss Gwendolin Foulke is chairman, promises to be one of the most festive functions of the Vuletide. The function will be ta the nature of a tea and there will be dancing. All members of the club and visiting guests will be privileged to attend.

The Domestic Science Association met Wednesday afternoon at the Gar

field school where Miss Electa Henley, Domestic Science teacher, had her 8 B-l class to give a demonstration lii cooking. A luncheon consisting cf creamed oysters, served in bread cups, biscuit's, jellied cream, and iittle nut cakes known as Margeurites, was served. The lunch was served on individual trays which were coved with lace mats. The napkins were decoed with holly and the Christmas col ors. All the girls in the class wore dainty white aprons and caps. They did exceedingly well and are to be congratulated. Forty members were present. Several business matters were considered. Reports were read. The club will meet again in a fortnight. The hostess will be announced later.
