PLANNING CONTEST Resentment Shown to Reduction in Dixie Convention Representation.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 18. Southern members of the Republican National committee today planned to make a strenuous fight against having their representation reduced by 79 in the national convention. The action of the national committee In reducing the southern representation from 40 to 16 per cent was admittedly illegal. The committee agreed upon this point before it took the action but the members of the committee held that they were confident that the next convention would ratify their move and pans resolutions which would render an illegal action legal.
