EXPERT WILL TEST DAIRYMEN HERDS Farmers At Meeting Decide to Accept Purdue Extension Scheme.

Committee to Obtain Names of Other Owners At Once.
The scheme evolved by the Purdue extension department for the testing of cowh without cost to their owners bids fair to be introduced in Wayne county within the next, month. At a meeting of dairymen held Saturday afternoon in the court house, farmers said sixty cows would be placed on
the testing list. The number is ex-j pected to be augmented to more than i two hundred within a short time. j By the arrangements made, a dairy j expert will came from J'urdue once a
month and make the rounds of all owners of cows who wish to have an expert test made of each cow's milk and have her rations passed upon. Then a regular intervals the expert will submit a cost sheet for each cowshowing just what it is costing to are for her and just what she is paying. Purdue Pays Expenses. The only expense the farmer will incure for this service will be for taking the expert to the next man using his service and boarding him while he is at his farm. All bills for railroad fare hotel bills and similar expenses will be met by the extension department. The matter of securing additional numes was left in the nands of the following committee: O. K. Mrs. Dora Mitchell of Richmond is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Will Tigue. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Jones and family entertained Friday evening at an oyster supper. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Thornburg, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Sherry ana sons. Miss lone Thornburg and La Verne Thornburg. Thomas Sexton, of Kansas, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Beeson and other members of the family. Arangements are being made for a musical to be given by the Christian
church during the holiday week. The interest in the revival at the M. E. church deepens. The attendance is good, and the sermons plain and to the point. Evangelist Miller does not hesitate to speak the truth. Miss Mary Jones come Home from Earlham Saturday. Mrs. O. H. Beeson and daughter, Miss Lora, were in Richmond Saturday. The public schools will give an entertainment before closing for the holidays. Mrs. G. A. Borders entertained the W. F. M. S. Friday afternoon. The Daughters of Rebekah will meet Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Margaret Bil'heimt-r. one o' the pioneers of Wayne county, the grandmother of Charles Billheimt-r and Mrs. Harrold Oglesbee of Cambridge City and mother of Sylvester Billheimer of Richmond, died at the home of her son John Billheimer in Brown county, Saturday night. The body v.-ill arriv--in Cambridge City tomorrow. Mrs. Billheimer and her husband. Solomon Billheinur. were among the best known residents of the county years ago. Both took a prominent part in church work. Funeral services will be heH in th Baptist church west of H.TSersrrwn at in o'clock Wednesday mornins.
