Misses Zoe Oven of Petoskey, Mich., Almira Starr, Jane Carson of Indianapolis, and Mrs. W. P. Robinson were guests. Bridge was played at several tables. The favors went to Mrs. Frank Braffett, Misses Marie Campbell and Margaret Starr. A dainty luncheon was served at the close of the game. The club will meet in a fortnight with Miss Margaret Starr at her home on North Tenth street.
The Golden Rule Bible class of First Methodist church met Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Ora Martin at her home, 600 South West A street. A part of the afternoon was devoted to needlework. Several vocal selections were given by Mrs. D. D. Ramsey, and Mrs. B. F.arle Parker gave a reading. Refreshments were served.

Mrs. Forest Ault was hostess yesterday afternoon for a meeting of 'the Ladies' Aid society of the Second Presbyterian church at her home on North Seventeenth street. The Music Study club will not meet Wednesday morning. The meeting will not be held until after the holidays, when Mrs. A. L. Bernhardt and Mrs. J. E. Cathell will act as hostesses at the Morrlsson-Reeves library.
A number of the members of the Country club enjoyed the dance given last evening at the club house under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kolp. Piano and drums furnished th dance music. There was a large attendance at the fathers' and mothers' meeting held last evening at the North Fourteenth Street mission under the auspices of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. H. H. Huntington gave a sketch of the battle of Lexington. This was followed by a number of picture reels depicting the battle. Several musical numbers were given on a Victrola. Mrs. James Judson told several Christmas stories, which were a delight to the children. After the program refreshments were served. SOCIAL GATHERINGS Cards for the large bridge party to be given Friday afternoon, December 19 at the beautiful home of Mrs. Oliver Gaar in East Main street, by Mrs. Gaar and her daughter, Mrs. Richard Study, were received today. This primises to be one of the most elaborate functions of the coming week. The sun parlor of the John Lontz home in Westeott Place presented a beautiful appearance last evening, when Mr. and Mrs. Lontz gave a dinner in honor of a number of friends. Carnations, roses and ferns were used in appointing the table. The parlor was a veritable bower of beauty. There are a number of pretty vines in this apartment which forms a pretty arbor. Covers were laid for twentyfive guests. An elaborate dinner in several courses was served. After dinner bridge featured the evening. The favors went to Mesdames Philip Twigg, Charles McGuire, Messrs.
