I STREET STORIES j The true spirit of Thanksgiving will dawn on on; little Richmond sir! whether or not the remaining hundreds merely take the day as a matter of established eustom and observe it as did thir ancestors. To this little mite, new shoes take the place of the sole worn footwear, and a new pair of stockings will cover her little legs. This little girl, whoever she may he, appeared on the streets in the drizzling rain yesterday selling a small basket of home-made cakes. "Please mister will yon buy some cakes" pleaded the little urchin, walking up to a kind hearted looking man. "How much are they?" inquired the man. "Ten cents for twelve of 'em," returned the girl. "Well, how many have you left?" asked the man. A few moments were spent in looking over the little store in the basket and there was Just 15 cents worth. The man not only purchased the cakes but after glancing at the child's clothing took her into a nearby shoe and notion store and instructed the clerk to give her a pair of shoes and some stockings.
