STABBED IN THE IIEAI)
Carried Four-inch Blades in His Head For Three Weeks.
There i6 every posBibility that Richard Cook, who web ptabbed in the had with a pair of ficinBors, will recover, according; to a letter received by Prosecutor Reller from Cook's physician at Plqua. Judge Fox and the pronecutor aecided that an affidavit of aasault and battery with intent to kill will be made against Donald Nestor, 20, the confessed ansailant. The physician wrote that Hook is able to walK around at his home and make three daily trips to the hospital for examination and treatment. He is able to give a fairly connected account of the incident of the n.gbt when he was stabbed, and it is believed the young man will have a clear mind in a short time. His case is one of the most remarkable which has been in the hands of the medical profession in this vicinity In years. Cook was stabbed on October 6 at 8:30 o'clock in the evening. He went at once to a doctor who looked at his wound and pronounced it only a scratch. His brain refused to recall the incidents of the evening when he talked with a reporter less than an hour after the stabbing. Cook became steadily worse, and two weeks later was placed under the care of a physician at Plqua. Three weeks after the stabbing. Cook was operated upon the the Ma den of the scissors were removed from his head. They had been resting against the base of the brain. Physicians acquainted with the details of the affair said only Cook's reinarkat le vitality saved him, as many men would have fulled dead instantly from the wound. Cook was not unconscious until after the operation, when he hung between life and death for more than a week. Prosecutor Keller will go to Piqua to talk with Cook and secure his account of the stabbing and the conversation of Nestor and Cook before the stabbing.
