Howard Brooks, Progressive county secretary and city chairman, said today he expected a good-sized delegation of Wayne county Progressives would attend the state rally to be held in Indianapolis next Tuesday. He asked all Progressives who reside in Richmond or vicinity and who are planning to attend the meeting to meet at the Pennsylvania station Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock. Mayor-elect Uobbins, City Attorney Bond and County Treasurer Chamness have arranged to attend the meeting. Progressive leaders and workers all over the state are anxious to get a glimpse of the delegation from Wayne county, which is recognized as the Progressive stronghold of the United States, because its government is al
most completely dominated by the new party. In consequence, the Wayne countains will play a most conspicuous part at the Indianapolis meeting. Keever in Race. Another new candidate for the Progressive nomination for county clerk has made his formal announcement Claude Keever, of Fountain City, trustee of New Garden township, one of the best-known business men in northern Wayne county and an active Progressive worker since the organization of the party. Runvr also has it that Frank Gipe, of East Germantown, a business man ol tnat place and an active party worker, is to seek the Progressive nomination for county clerk. Robbins Besieged. Mayor-elect Robbins is still being besieged with applications for appointments to city offices. These applications are made through personal interviews and through the mails, and so numerous are the men willing to be attached to the municipal pay roll that they would form a small army. Included in the list of applicants are a number of the present city officers. Mr. Robbins is still taking his time making out his slate, and announced again today he would not be ready to make It public for several days. Singer, a hustling goung American, who is making a fortune for himself in the Chinese city, is the lucky man. He had intended to return to New York to be married, but business details multiplied and his fiancee on receiving i letter to the effect that he could not spare the time to make the journey cabled back that she would do the traveling. She was given a real bridal send-off by her friends when she boarded the Prinzesse Irene.
SCHOOLS OBSERVE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Although no general observance of the fiftieth anniversary of the dedication of the Gettysburg battlefield by Abraham Lincoln was ordered in the city schools, many teachers in the lower grades had programs dealing with the Gettysburg speech. Superintendent Giles said it was part of the work among the younger children to observe all anniversaries connected with the country's history. On such occasions the school work for the day is hinged upon th event which is being celebrated.

RUSH JS - PEEVED Files Election Statement in Pungent Letter.
When a man is not a candidate for election, it is an imposition to make him file a statement of his campaign expenses. This is the belief of Ben Rush as expressed in a letter to City Clerk Besche" which was written in Kansas City, Mo. Rush writes that he did not spend a cent. The letter which City Clerk Bescher has filed as a statement follows: "Filling out of these papers for exnary, as I handed you a notice In per son of my withdrawal.
