I STREET STORIES - Note writing may be fun for the high school student and may add pleasant memories to his later meditations on his school escapades, but it does cause the average teacher, who diligently watches the study rooms at the high school, for agitators of this misdemeanor, much unrest. This writing goes on for the most part between the boys and girls who have "cases." ' During the study period when all should be engrossed in their Latin as signment or in the attempt to fasten their minds on when the Declaration of Independence was signed, they carefully slip a sheet of paper from their tablet and put down the yearnings of the heart. After this flow of "mush" is written, the sender indifferently and with many a sly glance at the alert teacher, flips the missive across the room to the desk of "the one" and immediately pays strict attention to the book in front of him. The recipient, if the note does not reach its destination or falls to the floor, lets his pencil roll noisely from his desk and cooly reaches for it, and at the same time picks up the note which he then proceeds to read after it has safely been unfolded and placed between the leaves of an innocent looking book. But this plan is not always safely carried out and notes are often taken away from the frightened pupil to the delight of his fellow studens, and the sender is reported at the office where his name is written in the formidable "Interest" book. The "mania" of not writing, according to high school teachers, seems to have taken possession of a great num ber of students. (Palladium Want Ads Pay Richmond Roller Mills Manufactures Flour Above the Average. The writer dropped into the Champion Mill this morning and found that it had been given a thorough overhauling. Every detail in the manufacture of "Pride of Richmond" flour had been given a most careful review and no pains nor cost had been spared and the claim is made without fear of contradiction that this plant is prepared to make absolutely the best flour that it is possible to make. Richmond is favored beyond most cities In having the best milling facilities known. The product of this home industry is the very best the market affords. "Pride of Richmond" flour without doubt as an all round flour for family use, ranks as the best, and has no superior on the market today. The management is so confident of this that they will refund the money and make no charge for the flour used on trial, to any one who uses the flour and does not find the claims made for "Pride of Richmond" to be correct. Better try a sack. It will cost nothing if the flour is not all claimed for it. 20-1 1 (Advertisement!
