STATE .LEADER SAYS AGENTS MAKE GOOD
T. A. Coleman Declares County Agents Are Bringing Results. "One has only to go into Decatur County, where W. E. McCoy of Greensburg, ia county agent, or in any of the other nineteen counties in Indiana in which the agricultural extension department has its appointed ; agents, to have his mind rid of any belief that the county agent movement , is ' merely an agricultural fad. The movement is making good, and the farmers realize that they are being helped and ate rapidly getting the co-operative spirit for which the agents have been working," says T. A. Coleman, supervisor of the county agents of Indiana, and assistant state leader in the extension department of Purdue , university, who is in the city visiting A. I). Codd, county agem. Mr, Coleman is reviewing Agent Comm's work of the last few months. The supervisor of county agents is an ardent supporter of community meetings for farmers, and has many examples of the splendid work accomplished by them. He will take up with Agent Cobb the perfection of plans made for winter community meetings, especially those for the betterment of soil conditions. He i3 interested in the fertilization of the soil. He gays next year the county agents In the state will receive orders from headquarters to give community instructions in fertilizing soil. Demonstrations will be made from time to time and the results will be followed up to appertain to what extent the Boil can be benefited by cultivation. The Grrensburg agent recently found an opportunity to develop a progrecpive spirit among the farmers in a corner of his county. Each of several farmers in a community had m 1 a small acreage ot appies, "in ujc ; fruit was small, not well developed, I and farm from bring of good market! value. President Howe this morning in chapel severely reprimanded the play ers who forgot the duty they owed their college as to be guilty of such violation of training rules. Coach Thomas, who spoke later, announced that the next man found violating the rules of training would be summarily dropped from the squad. You don't mind if I go right on ironing, do you? Since I have used Fels-Naptha Soap I get my wash done so early that I can get through a good deal of ironing by Monday night, and it gives me extra time Tuesday. Besides, I am not tired. I don't dampen the clothes too rrch before I iron them, and then it doesn't take so long to get them dry, but I keep a clean cloth and this bowl of water, and any place that is too dry I just dampen as I iron, and find it is very much easier." Anty Drudge "Well, I see there's nothing I can teach you." ' There is a way to make housework easy. It is trie Fels-Naptha way. It means added hours of rest, cheerful, smiling women, more time for pleasure. It is the coolwater, no-hard-rub-b i n g way.
