INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 22. The meeting of the grand council of Red Men opened with a total delegation from the state of 1,300 in attendance at the German house. Elections yesterday resulted in several tie-ups but the selections were made for all offices except that of chief of records and great junior sagamore. The candidates for great chief of records are Otto Wolf, Indianapolis, Oscar E. Sherman, Indianapolis and Emil G. Decker, Noblesville. The contestants for the office of great junior sagamore are Clifford Crawford, Michigantown, Frank W. McConaughy, Frankfort and V. W. Livengood, Waynetown. Fred O. Downs of Boston, great junior sagamore of the United States and A. L. Summers of Danville, great sachem of Illinois addressed the meeting following which an exemplification of degree work was given by the Otokah Tribe No. 49 of Connersville. Choose Representatives. Representatives from Indiana to the Great Council to be held at Portland, Me., vere elected as follows: George R. Harper, Madison; Charles A. Robinson, Greenfield; John E. Sederick, Martinsville and Charles M. Stout, Mlddletown. They will serve with F. G. Castor, Indianapolis; O. C. Norris, Rushville and George I. Kisner, Terre Haute, holdovers in office. The great council of Red Men adjourns tonight, and tomorrow morning the meeting of the Degree of Po caiiontas will convene. Officers Rotate. r Following the usual order of rotation of offices, G. W. Sweigart of Hartford City, will succeed Roy W. Emig as great sachem; James W. Lampkin, of Indianapolis, will become great senior sagamore, and Roy W. Emig, retiring great sachem, will become great prophet, the office now held by George F. Harper. In the board of trustees Frank M. Graham of Bloamington, "was re-elected and will serve with Joseph R. Deal, ot Kokormo, and Charles L. Bartel, of Warsaw, who are holdovers. The members of the board of appeals, committee on tribal laws, state wigwam committee, committee on revision of laws and orphans' board are to be appointed by the incoming great sachem.

$600 FOR CYCLES IN CITY TREASURY

Investigation today showed a fund of $600 in the city treasury, which by special act of council can be placed at the disposal of the police board to ! purchase a motorcycle. The money is part of that appropriation for the new police signal system, and can be transferred by ordinance upon recommen-; dation of the city controller to the motorcycle fund.
