the coupons and watch their numbers while the wheel spun round. "Richmond Made" Exhibit. In the "Made in Richmond" tent busy office men have shed their coats to help with the work. The exhibits running the length of the tent range from gasoline engines to pianos. Carpenters are building large comfortable porches with swings and porch furniture. One exhibitor is building a complete room and furnishing it. Nearly all the judges appointed by the executive committee are sending in their acceptances, but the list is not complete, and will not be given out until tomorrow. Only out-of-town men will judge in all the departments. Committees having charge of the exhibits are arranging the display! that exhibitors are bringing in. Entry List Large. The entry list is so large tha. several persons have been added to the clerical force at the Commercial club rooms to list the individual entries. So many hundred articles tad been entered that no estimate of the exact number could be made this morning, although the list is more thaa double that of any previous festival. For two days fifty women have been reveling in embroideries at the high
school. The high school gymnasium walls have been covered with exhibits. There will be found everything of interest to women. In addition to the needlework, numbers of pies, cakes, canned fruits and loaves of bread are being listed with the committee. Banks Close Early. The banks of the city have announced that on account of the Fall Festival parade, they will close at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon for the remainder of the day. The notice is signed by the following institutions: Dickinson Trust company, First National bank, Union National bank and Second National bank. Comment on Decorations. Comment on the street decorations are heard, on every hand. The thirtysix tall posts which are being erected on the corners of Main street and one block north on Ninth, ar beautiful. Each of the four sides of the bases announce the "Fall Festival." On top is a cluster of palmleaves supporting the stars and stripes. Twined up the center of the posts are large branches of oak leaves, while the outer four supports carry twenty-eight electric bulbs with yellow shades. Between each two posts a string of shaded bulbs will span the streets. Airman Ready. Especial attention is being called by members of the executive committee to the change in the place of starting the aeroplane flights. Athletic park where the flights were to have been started, was declared too small, and the ascents will be made from Reid field, Earlham college, Thursday and Friday at 11 and 5 o'clock each day. At all other times the machine will be on exhibition on the court house square. The machine is one of the largest models, being a military tractor, which will carry one passenger. Whether the aviator, Frank Kastory, will carry a passenger will depend on weather conditions. Appoints Judge.
Omer "Whelan, chairman of the live-J
stock committee, reports that he has secured the following judges: Kersey Kirk, Newcastle, heavy work horses; Harry Walker, New Madison, O., hogs; Bruce Sayers, Eaton, O., light harness horses. Friday will be the big day of the horse show, the ho.ses being exhibited
on North Tenth street, beginning at 9 o'clock in the morning and continuing all day. The light harness, saddle and pony classes will be exhibited Friday, and draft and general purpose horses on the two preceding days. Furnished Home Unique. Prospective brides and bridegrooms In great numbers are expected to flock to the high school auditorium during the Festival to get ideas on the proper furnishings of a home. In connection with the domestic science display, the committee has arranged for a display of household furnishings, showing both good and bad taste in selection. Furniture for two rooms, costing practically the same amount, has been placed in close proximity, showing how a wise young couple can furnish a home in good taste without spending any more money than would be required to fit it up in a hap-hazzard manner with discordant furniture and decorations.
