Brotherhood Hears Talk On Triumvirate
''The church, the school and the newspaper constitute the mightiest triumvirate for good that the world has ever known," said I J wight. E. Young, in an address on "The Newspaper and the Church," before the Methodist Brotherhood at a banquet held at the First M. E. church last night. "If these institutions could be brought more closely in contact with each other than they are at. the present, the result would be an improvement -in the world," he continued. Following Mr. Young, Dr. Gilbert D. Cleworth, of Anderson, delivered an address, "The Smile That Won't Come Off," in which he preached the doctrine of optimism and pointed out the fiuty of cheerfulness "Optimism is lot the result of a man's possessions, his money or his social standing, but V is the spirit which he carries with tim under all conditions into every RUSSIAN DESIGNS ATTRACTIVE FOR There is something about the Ruslian blouse with its cozy fur trimming that suggests crisp winter days. Picturesque and becoming, those Russian roat and suit designs are general favorites. The addition of a cleverly draped sash makes the suit dressy enough for an afternoon tea, while worn with a broad belt of patent leather or suede it is perfectly appropriate for a shoppin.tr trip. Cellars, too, add to the effect. 7936 has a broad cape collar coming welt down over the shoulders, and a Medici Rives the new high collar line in the back. Puvetyn velours de laine, ratine or broadcloth may all be used. A pretty suggestion Is Russian green broadcloth edped with Harrow bands of skunk and closed with frogs of black silk braid. There are five pattern sizes. 34 to 42. To obtain either pattern illustrated fi'.l out this coupon and inclose 15 cents in tamps or coin. He sure to state number of pattern and size, measuring over the fullest part of the bust for dimensions. Address Pattern Pepartnunt.

"But the world in general should smile because things are growing better. The growing spirit of unity in the churches, the spirit of brotherhood and co-operation is growing in the churches. Moral reform is being carried on with good results, the world is growing better, and we should all smile." Rev. T. J. Graham, of the First Presbyterian church, also spoke.
