The Cary club was entertained at its opening meeting of the season, with Mrs. E. P. Jones, Thursday afternoon. A large number of club ladies were present to enjoy an interesting program. Mrs. William Ferris gave a paper on "The Primitive Woman," and showed the progress made in woman's condition, socially and intellectually. Miss Mary Jones gave a very beautiful solo. She was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Harry Doty. The responses at roll call showed a number of interesting , reports of "summer" pleasures. FALLS IN GUTTER; ARM IS BROKEN (Palladium Special) EATON, O., Sept. 6 Miss Sarah Wilson, well known resident, fell Thursday afternoon while crossing a gutter at the corner of Maple and Decatur streets, and suffered the fracture of a bone of her left arm. She was taken into the home of John H. Jones and Dr. F. M. Michael summoned. MILTON MILTON, Ind., Sept. 6. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis were Richmond visitors Thursday. Miss Helen Callaway, who has been spending several days with her uncles, Charles and Frank Callaway, returned to Indianapolis Friday morning. Raymond Bryant is clerking at Jones' grocery and hardware store. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Williams, of Richmond, and Mr. Williams' sister, Mrs. Perinthe Miller, of Cincinnati, re the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Caldwell, south of town. Mrs. Charles Lyons was at Madison to see relatives, Wednesday. Mrs. Alvin Lowry spent Wednesday as the guest of Mrs. Jesse Hormel, north of Dublin. Misses Dorothy Hoshour and cousin, Mildred Klotz, of Richmond, spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hoshour, at Cambridge City. Burl Kellam, who spent a few days with his relatives, Mr. and Mrs. John Kellam, has returned to his home in Noblesville. Mrs. George Murley visited her mother, Mrs. Border, at Richmond, Wednesday. The latter is sick. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Elwell entertained as their guests, this week, Mr. and Mrs. Morrillion and daughter, of Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Elwell mad their guests formed a party to Dayton, Tuesday. Miss Martha Ward is again at her work at the overall factory at Cambridge City, after a few days' vacation. Miss Olyn Ellis, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. L. E. Thompson, and also her aunt, Mrs. G. A. Borders, went to Indianapolis, Wednesday, to visit relatives before returning to her home at Terre Haute. Miss Ruby Kellam has returned from a pleasant visit at Indianapolis, where she visited Mrs. Edward Wasson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fink have returned to Columbus, O.. after a fewdays' stay with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Oran Bragg were at Connersville, Wednesday evening. Henry Shepherd went to Guilford, near Lawrenceburg, Thursday evening, as extra for the Big Four at that place. Colbert Crownover has made some improvements about his premises and whitewashed one high board fence. Mrs. Berry and children, of Indianipolls, who were guests of Mrs. G. A. Borders, have returned to Indianapolis. The Rev. F. M. Westhafer closes the conference work at Doddridge chapel Sunday. The morning service will be t Chautauqua sermon for the children. Will -Little, of Anderson, and his cousin, Santford Little, Jr., of Kokojno, came Wednesday afternoon to isit Mr. and Mrs. Santford Little and John Little and family. Mr. Little from Kokomo is a son of Ephraim Little. Mrs. F. M. Jones, Mrs. H. L. Jones, Mrs. E. J. Jones, Mrs. Rudolph Myers, Mrs. Alice Gresh, Mrs. Malinda Barton, Mrs. R. W. Warren, Mrs. L. H. Warren and Mrs. F. C. McCormick formed a party of ladies at dinner with Mrs. Sarah Peters Gordon at Newcastle, Mrs. Martha Morris, of Pendleton, , and Mrs. Huddleston and Mrs. Goodrich had visited at some time Jane Addams in her home and dined with her there, and they entertained the company with interesting talks of their visit and of Jane Addams and her work.
