EATON. Ohio, August 29 The willingness of Congressman Card to secure for Eaton the benefits of free city mail delivery is expressed in a telegram received by Hon. Earl H. Irvin, chairman of the County Democratic Central Committee. The message reads: "At my epeoial request, the Post Offic-3 Department is sending an inspector to Eaton to investigate conditions relative to having free delivery of mail in Eaton. Will do all I can to secure this great benefit for the people. Warren Gard." The matter of the service was taken up with the post office authorities by Secretary Brown, of the Commercial c-liib. Little encouragement was given, anil the aid of Congressman Gard was later enlisted.

WORTH WILL PREACH Observe Fifty-Seventh Year in Ministry.
(Palladium Special) MTLTON, Ind., Aug. 29. Rev. Aaron Worth of Fountain City was ordained a minister at an annua conference of the Wesleyan Methodist church in Milton, fifty-seven years ago next September 12. At the close of his address here July Fourth, he was given an unanimous invitation to celebrate the anniversary of his ordination by preaching in Milton. The local pastors have arranged that the exercises be held on Sunday, September 14. A union service will be held in Friends church In the morning and in the Christian church at 3 o'clock, and another service at the M. E. church at 7:30 p. m. The Rev. Mr. Worth Is a popular minister, and no doubt will have large audiences at each of these services. It will also be the last Sunday of the Rev. Mr. Westhafer's year. The annual conference will open the following Wednesday at Rushville.

The new official iias served as deputy in the office for several months, and is thoroughly familiar with the affairs of the position. He has retained Mr. Markey as his deputy. Both are Democrats. On the same day C. A. Phares, Republican, and James Sharkey, Democrat, will enter upon their second terms as recorder and treasurer, respectively. C. A. Hoffman has been retained by Mr. Sharkey as deputy for the new term. The new members of the board of commissioners, William Johnson, Republican, Silas Buriff, Democrat, and J. A. Day, Democrat, will assume office September 15.

FIRE BURNS SHOPS AT TEAGUE, TEXAS (Palladium Special) CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind Aug. 29. John Mosbaugh has informed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Mosbaugh, of the destruction by fire of the railroad plant in which he is employed at Teague, Tex. Practically all the company's car stock was destroyed, including twenty acres of buildings. The damage is approximated $500,000. in what way this will affect Mr. Mosbaughs' position has not been learned.
(Palladium Special) MILTON, Ind., Aug. 29. is widely rumored that the Big Four railroad company, Whitewater division. make an extension to its lines from Hagerstown to Losantsville. This will be a great saving in expense to the company, it is said, because it will lessen freight routes about two hundred miles. Freight is now sent from Indianapolis to Valley Junction, and from there north through Milton to Hagerstown. At Losantsville connections will be made with the Eastern division.

HARRY BROWN LOSES TVVO VALUABLE COWS (Palladium Special) NEW PARIS, O., Aug. 29. Harry Brown, a farmer living on the C. H. Wefler farm, north of New Paris, lost two valuable milk cows Wednesday, and two others are in a serious condition from over-eating green corn. The animals broke through the pasture fence and before being discovered were almost beyond relief.

Ind., Aug. 29 Ozias Mason of Dublin, twin brother of Ozro Mason, SI, has the distinction of having attended every session of the Fayette county fair, except two, during which he was a resident in Illinois. Reynolds and Reeder, of Cleveland, O., crack roque players, who have played on the local courts for the past two days with New Paris players, lost but three games out of ten. At Campbellstown, where they played on Wednesday, they played four games and won all. The men are among the best players in the United States, and play a clean game.
