The cobbled pavements are tbere. tUe whita pens still break up the wide expanse, but no cattle or sheep are to be seen. On that day the great market is given orer to a throng of miscellaneous traders, whoe wares provide the mwt amazing contrasts Imaginable. Tbere is nothing in the whole gamut of human devices and needs which one may not come across displayed In some odd collection set forth on the cobblestones. The traders use few counters or stalls. Each of them, whether be bas a stock worth three or four hundred pounds or a few rusty o!d bolts snd spindles which one might reasonably expect to purchase for a shilling or two. damps his wares on the parement of the market. Moreover, at this remarkable place there are markets within markets, each taking Its regular tarn and p:ace daring the day and then packing up and vacbhing. Tbe market was opened by Prince Albert.
