The regular monthly meeting of the post will be held in the club rooms next Saturday night. Members are urged to attend as there will come up several matters of importance for consideration. President Browne has returned from Denver where he attended the annual meeting of the Knights Templars. He reports a fine trip both going and coming. During his stay in Denver he was entertained in a royal manner. For the first time in twenty-five years Jim Lewis is without a job. During the past week Jim asked for his release from his old house. Layman Cary & Co., and is now a gentleman of leisure. On account of the fire which the firm suffered some time ago, it is understood that they will be out of the business for some time, until they can secure suitable quarters and can assemble a new stock of goods. Jim has several propositions under consideration but has come to no definite decision as to his future line of worw. Quite a few of the T. P. A. members are camping at the Chautauqua and are kept busy trying to locate their berths and meals. Suty Quigg seems to be the one in most distress and is kept busy locating his family. At times they are at home and at other times they are camping and "Billie" does not seem to be able to tell when and where they are at. The annual picnic of the T. P. A.s will come up for consideration next Saturday night. Those interested in a picnic should be on hand to assist in planning the details of the affair. In the death of D. L. Mather, post C has lost another active, loyal and devoted member. Mr. Mather had been a member of the T. P. A. for years, was always deeply interested in the affairs of the post and gave the organization much of his time. His death coming so suddenly has cast gloom over the post and the entire membership body is mourning Tiis loss. Mr. Mather during the past year was vice president of post C. JJ. B. Heggar. ames Martin, T. H. Hill and W. M. Kramer formed a committee to represent the T. P. A. at the funeral of D. L. Mather. The board of directirs will meet this evening to elect a successor to Frank Highley who has tendered his resignation as a directir of post C. Mr. Highley's removal to Chicago has necessitated this action. Nica For the Lady. Quite regularly a certain London school teacher invited two miserable little girls to spend Saturday afternoon at her bouse. Knowing how overburdened with work the mother was and how much the children's moral education was neglected at home, n settlement worker ventured to congratulate the parent. "What a great advantage for tbom:'' she said. "How exceedingly kind of her!" "Xo doubt she's glad -f entup'ny." complacently returned the mother. London Telegraph. The Use of English. Of the 80.000 English words available for conversation purposes only 400 are said to be in common use. If these were carefully selected there would be little cause for complaint, since the combinations they make possible should provide innumerable shades of variation. Careful word selection is something that should be encouraged In aud out of the schools. Christian Science Monitor. Seaweed paper has been invented by an English chemist. LOST Auto Tire Chain.
