SOCIAL EVENTS FOR TUESDAY A meeting of the Tuesday Bridge club -will be held In the afternoon. The Woman's Aid society of the West Richmond Friends church will be held in the afternoon at the usual hour. A business meeting of the East End Aid Society of the First Christian church -will be held in the afternoon with Mrs. Alice Leighton, B21 South Thirteenth street. The Epworth League of Grace M. E. church -will give a watermelon social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Cartwright, 325 South West First street. Mrs. E. R. Beatty will give a luncheon at her home in East Main street, in honor of Mrs. Mary Hutton Smith of Indianapolis.
SURPRISE LUNCHEON. Beautiful in all of its appointments was the luncheon given Sunday at one o'clock by Mrs. W. Frank Lehman at her home in North Eighth street when she entertained in honor of her son, .Mr. Ernest Lehman. The ffair was in the nature of a surprise. All the guests were members of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity, the host also being a member of this organization. The guests were served at a round table. In the center was a large Phi Delta Kappa fraternity pennant surrounded by pretty groups of red flowers and ferns. The table presented a beautiful appearance. The favors were nose-gays of red flowers. An elegant luncheon in several courses was served. Covers were laid for Mr. J. Fred Bollmeyer, Mr. George Breneizer, Mr. Gerald Fitzgibbons, Mr. Homer Ramsey, Mr. Allen Jay, Mr. Willard Jay, Mr. Ray Lichtenfels, Mr. Earl Cottotn, Mr. Chauncey Edgerton, Mr. Fred Hugo, Mr. Clarence Turner, Mr. Hilton Long, Mr. Howard R. Smith, Mr. Kirk Bly, Mr. Fred Rossiter and Mr. Ernest Lehman.

AT WAYNESVILLE. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Will Jones and family motored to Waynesville, Ohio, yesterday where they were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman.
HAD GUESTS. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Kaufman were host and hostess for a house party during the weeK end at their apartments in the Pelham. Their guests were Miss Zella Pitt, Mr. A. C. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. John Fishback, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Parry of Indianapolis.
FOR A VISIT. Miss Marjorie Beck and Mr. Henry Beck left today for Lancaster, Ohio, where they will visit with friends and relatives. Before returning home they will Bpend a week at Columbus, Ohio.
VISITING HERE. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Radevaugh and family, of Anderson, are visiting Mrs. H. P. Miller of South Eighth street, who Is a sister of Mrs. Radevaugh. Mrs. Radevaugh was formerly Miss Loma Morgan.
ATTENDED PARTY. Black-eyed Susans and golden-glow were used in arranging the rooms when Mrs. John Livezey, of South Fourteenth street, entertained at a thimble party yesterday afternoon, complimentary to Mrs. Carrie Roof and daughters of Cleveland, Ohio, and Miss Ella McCoy, of Richmond. Her other guests were Mesdames Maude Hudelson, Adda Caldwell, Sam Buffkln, Charles Feltt and Misses Carrie and Mamie Ellis, Emma and Lola Shriner, Florence Parker and Vienna Ogborn. Newcastle Times.

BY LA RECONTEUSE. Simple tailor made costume of beige cover coat for young girl, fitted on half loose lines. The short and straight little coat is cut open on the middle front, each side turned over to show two pointed revers, the larger part at the bottom and fastened by five natural corn round buttons and slik loops. A small round collar of ivory silk cloth trims the neck and is fastened in front by a small beige taffeta bow. The turn-over cuffs which finish the low and long sleeves are of the same ivory silk cloth. The skirt, straight and round, shows on each side front a lengthened effect of panier with two stitched panels strapped and hemmed to make at back at 10 inches the bottom of the skirt a square point.

AT HOME. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kaufman have returned to their apartments in the Pelham after a pleasant vacation spent at Atlantic City.
FOR VACATION TRIP. Miss Mary and Miss Martha McLellan of West Main street, left yesterday morning for Cleveland, Ohio, From there they will go by boat to Buffalo, and then to Niagara. They will visit with relatives in Toronto, Canada, before returning home. They will be absent from the city for about ten days.
TO RETURN HOME. Miss Elizabeth Campbell of Chicago who Is visiting with the Misses Sharkey at their home in North Fifteenth street, will return home this week.
ARE HOME. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph G. Leeds have returned from Oden, Michigan, where they have been spending a fortnight the guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Smith who are spending the summer at this place.

TO ATTEND WEDDING. Miss Mary Kaufman has gone to Newcastle to attend the wedding of her cousin. Miss Louise Millikan and Mr. Claude Stanley, which will be celebrated Tuesday evening at eight o'clock. Mrs. W. S. Kaufman, an aunt of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eggemeyer, will go to Newcastle tomorrow.
OLD SETTLERS' BALL. The old settlers ball will be given Saturday evening. August sixteenth,
in the pavilion at Jackson park. The
affair will be under the direction of Mr. Verlin Foland. Admission will be fifty cents. The Weisbrod orchestra composed of ten pieces, will furnish the music.

FOR HER DAUGHTER. Inhonor of her daughter. Miss Ruthanna Sims, of Chicago, Mrs. Florence Sims gave a pretty thimble party at her home near Chester. Flowers and ferns were used in decorating the rooms where the guests were entertained. The afternoon was spent socially and with needlework. The guests numbered ten. A dainty luncheon was served at a late hour.
