. MILTON, Ind., June 18 Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ferris spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. DuGranrut at Rushville. The offering for Children's day at Doddridge chapel Sunday morning amounted to nine dollars. Mr. and Mrs. John Pugh and four children were received into membership at Doddridge chapel Sunday evening. ' Mr. and Mrs. Benton Wissler entertained Sunday Ernest Railsback, Miss Flossie Railsback and Miss Josie H. Holmes of Richmond. " Louis Gingrich, who recently had his home burned at Ben ton vl He, went to Connersvllle Tuesday, to visit his sister, Mrs. Kinder. ; Miss Nellie Ward has returned from an extended visit with relatives at Brookvllle. Mrs. John Pugh of Doddridge are entertaining Mr. Pugh's father and Bisters, Emanuel Pugh and Misses Myrtle and Attie Pugh of Emlenton, Pa. Mr. Pugh and daughters were at Springfield, O., to see their son and brother, Meade Pugh, graduate at "Wittenberg College last week, and from there they came to Doddridge. Meade Pugh is preparing for the ministry in the Lutheran church. Emerson Gause is home from the state university. Walter Turner is ill. The lodies of the Eastern Star will have a thimble party at the home of Mrs. W. E. Williams Thursday afternoon. Everybody is invited. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Kellam entertained as their guests Sunday, Messrs. and Mesdames John Kellam of Straughns, Cyrus Whitely, west of town, James Kellam of Milton, Sam Williams and family of Cambridge City, and Mart Kellam and son, south of town. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Zeller entertained at dinner Sunday, Orvel Irvln of Chicago and Dr. and Mrs. Ray and son of Falmouth. William Skillman Dies. William Skillman, who has been ill with measles, died at his home Tuesday. He was about 68 years of age, and leaves a daughter, Mrs. Milton Bridgett of Richmond, and one sister, "with whom he made his home. The funeral services probably will be held Thursday morning. Miss Lucia Hall of Dayton, O., and Mrs. Oscar Klrlin are visiting Mrs. Charles Ferguson, west of town. Carload of Steers. Orvel Dailey, while in Chicago last week bought a carload of fancy steers of the Shorthorn and Polled Angus breed. Dr. Gentle of Richmond was here Monday, Will Muller, Elmer Weaver, Oscar Klrlin, Henry Huss and Wellington Swearengen formed a fishing party the early part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Swearengen oi Mooreland, are visiting Mrs. Flora Ferguson and family.
