SOCIAL EVENTS FOR FRIDAY. An auction Bridge party will be given at the Country club. The members of the June social committee will act as hostesses. Miss Rose Gennett will be hostess for a meeting of the Tuesday Bridge club at her home in East Main street. A luncheon will be given by Mrs. Paul Com stock at her home in South Fourteenth street. Mr. and Mrs. Omar Murray will entertain the members of the Friday evening Bridge club at their home in East M sjreet. The Hiawatha Literary society will be entertained at the home of Mrs. Alice Webb, North of the city.
FOR MRS. MOON. Adding charm to the many pleasant social functions scheduled for yesterday was the pretty afternoon thimble party given by Mrs. Lewis C. King at her home in North Thirteenth street, when she took this means of entertaining in honor of her aunt, Mrs. Hiram E. Moon, of Portland, who formerly resided in Richmond. The guests included relatives and friends of Mrs. Moon. Garden flowers were used in decorating the rooms where
the guests were so hospitably entertained. During the afternoon a dainty luncheon was served. The guests were Miss Maryanna Stubbs, Miss Margaret Wickett, Miss Julia Test, Mrs. Sarah Fletcher, Mrs. William N. Trueblood and her guest, MrB. Wilfred Trueblood; Mrs. John Elliott, Mrs. Frank Kinsey, Mrs. Charles Jenkins, Mrs. R. W. Randle, Mrs. Mary Hill, Mrs. Theodore Candler, Mrs. William Middletown, Mrs. Lewis K. Harris and Mrs. Jennie Moffett.
MARKET SATURDAY. A market will be given Saturday afternoon by the East End Aid society of the First Christian church at the Johnson store in Main street. HAS RETURNED. Mrs. Clara Malsby, of the Wayne apartments, has returned from Oxford. Ohio, where she was the guest of her daughter, Miss Louise Malsby, a student at the college. Miss Malsby will come in a fortnight to spent her summer vacation here.
LAST MEETING. The last meeting for the season of the Wednesday Afternoon Bridge club
was held yesterday at the home of Mrs. John J. Harrington, Jr., in her pretty apartments in South Eighth street. Bridge was played at several tables. The favors went to Mrs. John Collins, of Chicago, and Miss Mary Lawrence. After the game the hostess served a dainty luncheon. The club has had many pleasant meetings during the winter months." Meetings will be resumed again in the fall.
FOR A VISIT. Miss Bright Bensburg, of St. Louis, who has been attending Bryn Mawr, came today for a short visit with Miss Maryanna Stubbs at her home in North G street. Miss Bensbury and Miss Stubbs met several years a- while G Btreet. Miss Bensburg and Miss they were traveling abroad.
GUESTS HERE. Mrs. Charles Northcutt and children, Miss Beatrice Northcutt and Master Robert Northcutt, of Hagerstown, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Jones at their home in North C street. Before returning home they will be entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Will Jones at their home in North Thirteenth street.
