Daniel W. Comatock, who was elected department commander of the Indiana G. A. R. at the recent state encampment has appointed M. M. Lacey. Po8t 420 of Fountain City, his chief of staff. Among the other members of his staff, only one is from this city, Irwin B. Arnold, who was appointed patriotic instructor. The other appointments are as follows: Judge advocate, Joseph M. Fesler, Post 281, Indianapolis, would be continued as assistant adjutant general and assistant quartermaster general. FAREWELL MEETING FOR CAPT, DEUTER Salvation Army Officers to Be Given Token of Appreciation. The program for the citizens' farewell meeting to be held Friday, June 6, at the First Presbyterian church at 7:30 o'clock, for Captain and Mrs. Herman Deuter, of the Salvation Army, has been completed by the committee. Captain Deuter will deliver an address to the citizens who have helped him in his work of charity and reform, which he has successfully carried on

I in the city for the past four years.

Captain and Mrs. Deuter will leave for Detroit, where they will engage in Salvation Army work. A gift will be presented to Captain and Mrs. Deuter as a token of the appreciation of the citizens for the work which they carried on here. The committee which has the meeting and program in charge is composed of Rev. T. J. Graham, B.ev. E. G. Howard, Rev. T. C. Kenworthy.
