The bidders, in submitting proposals to make said described public improvements, must accompany each bid with a certified check in the sum of $100, as evidence of good faith that the successful bidders will execute, within ' ten days from the acceptance of proposals, contracts and bonds satisfac- ' tory to the said Board to do the work of making said improvements. A failure of the f uccessfi'.r bidders to enter into such contracts and bonds upon the acceptance cf ?uch proposals will forfeit the checks and the sums of SRoney payable thereon to the city as agreed and liquidated damages for such failure.
