FACTE EIGHT
THE RICHMOND PAIXADIUM AND SUN-TELEGRAM, FRIDAY, MAY 9, mO.
ATHLETES EXPECT TO BE INDIAfIA Members of Earlham Track. Squad in the Pink of Condition.
The Earlham track team left Richmond this afternoon for Bloomington to meet the State. University tomorrow. Although beaten last Saturday ty Purdue, the Yellow and White men ere confident of winning from Indiana. In the Purdue meet all of the men ehowed up well although not a single first was won. Indiana does not have as many track men as the Lafayette University and are more nearly in the ocal college's class. Captain Stanley is In fine shape and is sure of at least two firsts in weight events. Johnson will '-get first in the century it is expected, and he stands a very good show in the troad jump. Joe Roberts will probably share the hurdle honors with MaMaw, probably the two fastest men in lthe state. In the Purdue meet Roberts fell and lvas disqualified for going around one liiirdle and Magaw was not in training. Both have been working hard fthn week. Wood may show up in the quarter and Winslow will probably frpull a second in the mile. Walter 'Roberts will get at least a second in fthe pole vault and Clark and Jones feiave been doing well in the long grinds. The following men made the trip: Stanley, Guyer, Thistlethwaite, jCTohnson, T. H. Cox, H. Cox, Sieweke, fj. Roberts, W. Roberts, Darnell, L. '"Winslow, Barnes, Jones, Wood, BruSjj&ker, Morris, Engle.

(National News Association) LOUISVILLE. Ky., May 9 With the running of the Kentucky derby but a day off the public is widely divided upon the chances of three horses in the race, Ten Points, Foundation and Yankee notions, and the prospects for ne of the greatest contests in the history of the race is anticipated by the thousands of lovers of thoroughbreds ho will journey to Churchill Downs Saturday afternoon. The final workouts of the Derby horses have been made. The probability is that the field will be small. Three horses stand out as best, and If the track is fast the field will have only five starters. OARSMEN ARE READY
For Triangular Regatta on Charles River.
(National News Association) "BOSTON, May 9. One of the earliest of the intercollegiate rowing races will take place tomorrow on the Charles River when the Harvard, Pennsylvania and Princeton eights compete in the triangular regatta. The Pennsylvania crew with three extra oarsmen and Coach Ellis Ward have been here since Thursday and put in two days of practice over the course. The Princeton oarsmen under the leadership of Dr. J. Duncan Speath a member of the faculty, director of rowing and head coach of the Tiger 'Varsity eight, also arrived here on Thursday morning and went over the course on Thursday. The Harvard eight has been rounding into form under the' systematic practice of the last two weeks and expect to show some fine speed tomor
row. As this is the first race which i any of the contestants have rowed j this year and dopesters have no line i
of past performances on which to base predictions on the outcome tomorrow.
SHIFT DATE OF BOUT Willard and Smith to Fight May 20.
(National News Association) SAN FRANCISCO, May 9. Jesse Willard, the elongated white hope, and Gunboat Smith, of this city, will have a few more days in which to fit themselves than was originally intended. Promoter Jimmy Cof froth, who is handling the match today, shifted the date from May 17 to May 20, meaning that instead of being an afternoon fight and on a Saturday, which has been Coffroth's custom, it will be a night battle and on a Tuesday. Sunny Jim, as Coffroth is referred to here, has secured a two-year lease on the Eighth avenue arena, establishing the case of the shift. The place is brilliantly lighted. Coft'roth, while busy today on the May 20 match, has opened negotiations with Luther McCarty for a match with the winner of the Smith-Willard clash, and hopes to close it. To quote W. W. Naughton, America's foremost fight critic: "Luther had better take this match or make himself look foolish. He has not any too strong a hold on the title, as it is. McCarney, manager of McCarnty, isn't too friendly to the Frisco crowd, but Coffroth stands alone in his dealings with McCarney, and Jimmy comands the respect of every fighter and fight manager who has ever done business with him."

E PROOF
Best Evidence. Mr. Geo. M. Black, Well Known Salesman.
This Is one of the many statements
made in connection with the new tonic "Nervona," that is accomplishing such remarkable results in Richmond.
Mr. George M. Black, of Grand Hotel
of this city, states: "This is the first
medicine I have ever taken that really does what they say. "I have been suffering with Indigestion and Nervousness for some time. I could not sleep well and my appetite was very
poo, and it seemed that I had lost all
my energy.
"I am very glad to state that after
taking "Nervona" that I can now enjoy eating and sleeping, and as a whole I feel entirely rejuvenated."
To those who are suffering with In
digestion, Constipation, Nervous Headache, pains in the back and a general
run-down condition should call at Fos-
ler Drug Company, 601 Main street, and talk to the special representative who will gladly explain the merits of "Nervona." (Advertisement)
"Clincher" Paint , We know a paint which holds to the wood like a driven nail. Seasoned lumber is porous. The pores are ti.e empty sapcells. White lead paint, which dries on the wood in the. form of a solid, elastic film, fastens into these pores, and the whole coat of paint is actually riveted like armorplate to the surface it decorates and protects. Anchor White Lead (Dutch Boy Trade-Mark) and Pure Linseed Oil make the paint that spreads into a solid body. It becomes a part of the wood itself an outer layer that preserves the life of the lumber. I We sell it as well as other painting requisites. Come in and have a talk with us about painting. Jones Hardware Co.
