i, B. A. Kennepohl,' president of the board of public works, and W. F. Bock- ; hoff, president and general manager k of the National Automatic Tool works, v went to Indianapolis today to bold a r conference with officials of the T. H., V I. & E. Traction company. The men c are representing the city and the South 'Slde Improvement association in an J endeavor to secure additional street car lines In South Richmond. J Mr... Kennepohl stated that he bet Hieves the traction company will agree . to the proposition which will be subI roitted. It Is the plan to ask that the -tracks which will be taken from Olen f Miller park soon and the tracks which ( are being removed, ttrm North Eighth I street, be used In an extension of the South Eighth street car line. As an extension south is very much -needed by the factories in Beallvlew, it is nrobable that the men will make

every endeavor to secure at leaBt this addition to the present line on South -Eighth street. A line running east on South E street from Eighth street

Is also needed badly, but it is not believed that two extensions can be secured at present ; The street car company is at present taking out the tracks on North Eighth street. The heaviest grade of rails 1s to be laid on the street. A deep 'concrete bed is being placed in the 'streets. At present the cars are rerouted over North Fifth streets and TJ street to Ft. Wayne avenue. Mr. Kennepohl secured a promise from traction officials to remove the track in Glen Miller- park. As the company found It necessary to reroute the cars, Mr. Kennepohl refused to allow the change in route unless a date was set for the removal of the park track. . '
