Andrew Kerber has just received a very fine Duroc hog from Tromer Brothers, of LaFontaine. A band of gypsies were in town Friday. The women were plying their trade of fortune telling. A joke is told by Mr. Borders. One woman came to the Lake Erie & Western station and after asking the time of day asked to see his hand. Mr. Borders rather fiercely ordered her out and the woman was considerably frightened and left the station in a hurry. The Parents-Teachers Association beld a very interesting meeting at the high school room Friday afternoon. Mrs. Sam Hoshour had a very excellent paper on "Hygiene in School Dress." The paper was enthusiastically discussed at the close of the reading. Miw. ' Hoshour advocated that school girls should wear calico and gingham dresses that they might be changed and washed frequently. Uniformity of dress was also advocated by some, that ventilation of the school room might not chill some thinly clad, or those warmly clad be overburdened with heat. The next meeting will be held in June, at which time Mrs. Elizabeth Earl and Mrs. Ochiltree, of Connersville will be present to address the meeting. It Is a matter of note, that Mrs. Woodrow Wilson, first lady of the land is in sympathy with the movement of Parents-Teachers Association. Mrs. Henry Schlegel, was called to Metamora last week by the illness of her father, Justice Becht, deceased, Thursday night. Mr. Schlegel joined her there for the funeral. Mr. Betch was 80 years old. Andrew Kerber went to Indianapolis, Saturday, to spend a few days. Olin Davis is reported some improved. The Rev. F. M. Westhafer was at Doddridge Chapel, Saturday to attend the conference of the quarterly meeting. A French paper has discovered that the kaiser is prodigal in the use of perfume. He is devoted to a variety of extracts,,, such as ylang-ylang, iris, Alpine briar and corylopsls, which, it is said, he uses much too extravagantly to conform to the dictates of good taste. Other European rulers are addicted to the perfume habit, but in a leaser &"
