"I feel greatly encouraged over the results attained from the turtle bacilli treatment here," said Dr. Friedmann today. The' German physician spoke through one of his associates, Dr. laurice Sturm. .... .. . .' - Dr. Friedmann was in a cheerful mood, partly due to the apparent improvement in the cases of seven of his , patients at Bellevue Hospital as demonstrated when they walked into the room where Saturday the doctor inoculated 23 more sufferers. vj "For a time it looked as though a stubborn prejudice had arisen against me," the physician went on. "It needed some visual demonstration to turn the tide. Now I am satisfied that the peo- . pie here are giving me a fair trial.That is all I have asked., I expect to prove to them the efficacy of the cure," he concluded, his face beaming with a smile. Dr. Friedmann waved aside a criticism of Dr. Karl Von Guck, Ashville, N. C. a specialist In tuberculosis treatment, who was . quoted in a medical journal as saying that the Friedmann culture is not permanently effective. v '"In every case-the babies treated by me in Germany 18 months ago improved from the first inoculation, and they have continued . to .improve from . the first until most of them are entirely cured." v t "Asked what he thought of a suggesjih v.. Kenneth Barton of Indiana University spe his Easter vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Barton and family. F. P. Teaford made a business trip to Hollandsburg, Ohio, Monday. The Band Boys will give a musical concert, consisting of vocal and instrumental music and also a supper at Laurel Hall, Saturday evening, 29th inst. Miss Irene Sourbeer of Richmond visited with her parents over Sunday. A few neighbors and friends gave a birthday surprise for Mrs. William Hinshaw at their country home west of town Friday evening. The evening was spent in games and music.
