i J Kit MILTON MILTON, Ind., March 15 Mrs. O. H. Beeson and Mrs. O. L. Beeson were at Indianapolis Friday to visit Mrs. Chas. Ferguson at St. Vincent's hospital. Mrs. Kate Nicodemus, of Campbellstown, Ohio, and Mrs. Lulu Swisher of Richmond were guests of the former's brother, Dr. Sweney and family, Thursday. The M. E. church steps have, been improved with an iron railing on each side, making it very much more convenient to enter the Vestibule. The Cary club met with Mrs. E. P. Jones Thursday afternoon. A nice company was present to enjoy the good program. The folloiwng constitutes the principal features: Responses were something concerning Hiawatha. Paper. "How Should the American Holidays be Spent?" by Mrs. W. L; Parkins. The following officers were elected lor the coming year. Mrs. Oliver Wallace, president; Mrs. E. P. Jones, vice president; Mrs. Harry Doty, secretary; Mrs. J. A. Brown, assist ant secretary. Mrs. W. P. Moore, treasurer. Committee on program, Mrs. W. L. Parkins, Mrs. R. P. Lindsay, Mrs. E. P. Jones., Committee on music, Mrs. Chas. Kniese, Mrs. Paul Ferris. Crisics, Mrs. Walter Wood and Mrs. Geo. Kelsey. Word was received that Mrs. L. F. Lantz had successfully underwent the surgical operation at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, and that she was getting along all right so far. Sunday services at the Friends church. Sunday school at 9:15 a. m. Preaching by the pastor, the Rev. Mary Mills at the regular morning Hour. The Endeavor will meet at the usual hour. . At the Christian church. Bible school at 9:15 a. m. At this service a special program will be given. The day is "David Livingstons" and the exercises will be in Memorial, or an observance of his Day. Everybody Is invited to hear the program. The Endeavor will meet at Its usual tour. There will be no preaching as the Rev. F. C. McCormick will be at New Lisbon. The M. E. church ladies aid has a quilt at Mrs. Willis Leverton's and is meeting there from time to time. The Ladies Aid of the Christian church has a quilt at Mrs. Henry Hess's. They had an all-day gathering with Mrs. Hess Wednesday. Sunday services at the M. E. church. Sunday school at 9:15 a. b. Preaching morning and evening as revival services. The Epworth League will meet at the usual hour. Everybody Is invited to these services. Word has been received by friends here that Amos Johnson of Connersvllle recently had a cancerous growth removed from his chin. Frank Rothermel who has been on a trip to Alabama, has returned home. Mrs. H. II. Heist was seized with a dizzy spell while at the M. E. ladies aid Thursday and had to be taken home. She was quite 111 that day but Is reported better. She is now at her nteoes, Mrs. J. A. Brown.Will J. Callaway has been elected secretary of the Indianapolis Stock Yards Exchange. Mr. Callaway is a brother of Charles and Frank Callaway of Milton. Archer Baker, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Lindley Baker, of west of town, was severely bitten on the lip by a neighbor's dog. The animal had followed some one to Mr. Baker's and the little child was playing with him. STREET STORIES Judge Henry Fox. one of the best authorities on Indiana law, has one of the best records of any judge in the state. During his term on the bench he has given decisions in as many as 5,000 cases ot which number 21 cases were murder trials and over 2,000 divorce cases. .All the murder trials were in Wayne'county. REDMEN'S DANCE A dance will be given Thursday night by the; members of the Hokendauqua lodge of Red Men in the I. O. O. F. hall. The dance will be confined strictly to the members of the lodge and their immediate families. The invitations will serve for admittance at the door. CRUEL TREATMENT FROM HER SPOUSE Alleging that her husband is guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment Creole Owens filed suit against Frank Owens yesterday asking a divorce. The defendant is alleged to have struck, cursed and beat the plaintiff,
