MINER'S CASH SPENT Two Friends "Entice" Him to Booze Emporium. '

John Hammond, a one-armed miner, and with a long, shaggy grey beard fully two feet long, was arrested last night for public intoxication. He claims that he was on his way from Kokomo to Cincinnati and while waiting over here met two friends who enticed him to a nearby saloon. There, he stated, the three dissipated to the extent of Hammond's wealth. Hammond was arrested at Seventh and Main streets but has no recollections of it. Hammond had about a dollar which he was unable to spend last night and with this money he was sent to Dayton. J Arthur Brown and William Smith were arrested last night on Main street on charges of intoxication. Smith was seen to strike Brown and was arrested for assault and battery. Brown was charged with public intoxication. Both men pleaded guilty and were fined $1 and costs each. They paid theiines.

troduce at the coming session of congress a bill to restrict the power of the postoffice department in the use of the fraud order.
