TO PRESENT "BOB WHITE." Society, musical folk and all others Id this cttr. Interested In theatrical affsrfrs will be delighted to know that "Bob-White" 1b to be presented at the Gemett theater, April seventeenth and eighteenth under the auspices of the St. Paul's Guild of the St. Paul's Episcopal church. These dates fall on the week days of Thursday and Friday. A number of prominent stagers will participate in the event ana no doubt it will be one of the best amateur performances ever presented in this ctty. The Guild has arranged for many of these amateur affairs at Various times and they have all been very successful. Each one in a way outclasses the previous one. Rehearsals for the affair will Boon begin and everything will be done to make these
performances the best ever given by
the Guild. No doubt the theater will
be filled to its capacity on both evenings.
TO GIVE MARKET. The Ladies Aid society of the First Baptist church wilt give a market allday Saturday in the Johnston Stove store. The public is invited to attend. Many good things to eat will be on sale at this time.
TO HER HOME. Misa Elizabeth Wood has returned to her home in Smithfield, Ohio, after a pleasant visit here with Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Wood at their home in Spring Grove.
Francisco, daughter of Mrs. Hannah D. Francisco to Mr. Thomas Newby, of Blue Rapids, Kansas, has been announced. The marriage will take place some time during the coming summer.
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED. The engagement of Miss Lucy
DINNER AT CHURCH. Covers were laid for about one hundred and sixty-five guests when the Loyal Sisterhood class of the First Christian church taught by Mrs. S. W. Traum, together with the members of the official board and their families dined together last evening at the the church. The tables were arranged in the Sunday school room and were loaded with many good things to eat. After supper an informal program was given. Music was furnished by the Victrola through the kindness of the Jones Hardware company. Mr. D. L. Fitzpatrick gave a pretty reading. This was followed by musical numbers furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Richards and their family. Miss Lolene Pierce, a music student at Earlham College, played several beautiful iano solos. Mr. Ralph Little, a pupil of J. Louis Shenk, sang in a most excellent manner. Mr. Little has a
very fine voice and gives promise of becoming a most excellent vocalist. Readings were given by Mr. Leighton and Mrs. Leroy Little. There were several impromptu talks given by the different members. One of the pleasant features of the evening was "The Mystery Box" which occasioned much merriment. The evening was most delightful and will be long remembered by persons who attended.
FESTIVAL FRIDAY. The young people of the city are looking forward with extreme pleasure to the Festival which will be given Friday evening at the High school. There will be a number of entertainments furnished for the occasion. The public is invited to attend.
EASTER DANCE. Outclassing anything of its kind ever given in this city for the month of March, will be the beautiful Easter ball to be given Friday evening, March the twenty-eighth in the Pythian Temple by Mrs. Frank Crlchet. This will be the last party to be given this season by Mrs. Crlchet and will
conclude one of the most successful dancing seasons ever enjoyed by the young people of the city. The Hick's orchestra has been secured to furnish the dance music. Invitation will be sent out in a few days and will number about one hundred and fifty. It is expected that several out-of-town guests will be In attendance. The party will begin at nine o'clock. An admission to the gallery will be asked. Invitations Must be presented at the door.
MRS. BENTLAGE HOSTESS. The members of the Woman's Home Missionary society of the First English Lutheran church were entertained In a pleasant manner Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. Henry Bentlage at her home in South Fourteenth street. There was an excellent attendance of the membership. Mrs. Minter was the leader for the afternoon. The bible lesson was read 'by Mrs. Will Seeker. Mrs. William Romey read "The Great Teacher." The lesson study followed. It was entitled the "Educational Aspect of China." A number of pretty hymns appropriate to the lesson study
were sung by the membership. A let- The next meeting will be held the -ter from Africa was read by Mrs. An- ond Wednesday in April. The hostes na Heitbrink. A social hour followed, will be announced later.
