(Continued from Page One.) paying each soldier $40 for his horse and rifle. The government is to keep not more than 1,000 federal soldiers in Morelos, these men being confined to the garrison of the. larger towns. Zapata and his band promise to keep away from the cities and larger towns of the state unless their assistance is urgently needed by the government forces. Huerta has made himself master of the situation in the capital and his authority is being extended throughout the republic more rapidly than had been thought possible. The situation shows much improvement and the Mexican people, after, two years of constant revolutionary warfare which ravaged the country, are contented to tee peace once more within their grasp. " wi den. Mondragon, the provisional minister of war announced that one of the first acta of the government will be the reorganization of thearmy, which will be increased to 150,000 men. Huerta favors compulsory military training and this may be put into effect. Scene of Trouble. The only state which is now causing trouble to the government is Coahuila where Gov. Garranza is collecting an insurgent army. Gen. Geronimo Trevino, commander of the federal garrison at Monterey, has been ordered to take the field at once against Carranza. Trevino will command all the troops in the north military zone, while Feliz Diaz is expected to remain here. j United States Ambassador HenryLa ne Wilson declared that it was unnecessary for the Huerta government to ask recognition In the United States because the provisional government must necessarily be looked upon by the balance of the world as the legal and recognized government of the republic. Mr. Wilson defended the Huerta administration saying: "The present government emanated from the Madero administration in an entirely legal manner, carrying with It every constitutional right. Four petty rebel chiefs in Central Mexico have followed the lead of Zapata and other leaders by surrendering. They are Morelos, De La Ilavs, Lemon and Samano. Their combined followers do not number over 3,000 men. Rebel Chiefs Awed. ' The rebels have been awed by the executions of the Madero brothers and others. Tn this connection it was openly declared today that the government is fostering reports of assassinations to strike fear into the hearts of the enemies of the government. The fate of Raoul Madero, another brother, who was murdered by federal troops near Torreon, is unknown. ' Col. Tapia of the Rurales in the state of Chiapas, who took up arms vyltn Gov. Hidalsyo of that state, against the Madero government, has dome to this city for the purpose of declaring his allegiance to the government. Hidalgo, who was arrested, will be brought here tonight for trial. ;The former governor made a pitiful plea to provisional President Huerta for clemency, but got no satisfaction Huerta declares he will not interfere iwlth the courts..

(National News Association) PARIS, Feb. 27. Three women prisoners and Roderiquez were acquitted. The others, including Carouy, who committed suicide with poison in his cell after the sentence was pronounced, were sentenced to penal servitude for life. Twelve others got one year apiece. The trial lasted twenty-one days and was the most sensational ever held in a French court. More than 100 crimes, including murder, arson and robbery, were laid at the doors of the bandits. BARBARA COAST IS A DOOMED DISTRICT
(National New Association) . SAX FRANCISCO, Feb. 27 The "Barbary coast." for sixty years famous in San Francisco's "tenderloin" is doomed. Friday at midnight the scores of dive keepers will close their doors never to .re-open them. The passing of the Barbary coast is due to a recent ruling of the police
from entering the dance halls and comraisicm which prevents women other resorts. Within another month, it is said. Pacific street will be as dull and as unfrequented as the Farralone Island. Divekeepers and managers of danc halls will not attempt to evade the ruling. They believe that the commission means business. For years a trip to the Barbary coast has been considered a fashionable) slumming expedition.

If the prospective purchaser of a piano will use the same judgment in its selection as he does in the selection of other articles purchased; that is, act upon the judgment of those more fitted to judge, invariably the piano purchased would be the Starr, as it is praised and endorsed by the Master Musicians as an instrument of the highest quality. The reputation of the Starr Piano is built upon a foundation of opinions of the best musicians and operatic stars of the country. It has passed through the primary and experimental stage of piano making, which is one of the many reasons why it is always selected by those most capable of judging an instrument for its sweet tone and lasting qualities.
