PRETTY AFFAIR. One of the prettiest parties of the mid-winter seaaon, in the way of informal affairs, was the well appointed auction-bridge given this arternoon by Mrs. Jeannette G. Leeds at her pretty home in North Tenth street. The house was artistically decorated throughout with the pink Killarney roses. The greenery adding to the beauty of the embellishments. Bridge was played at three tables. There was a favor for each table. After the game a delicious luncheon In several courses was served. The guests were Mrs. John Kendrick Taylor of Boston, Massachusetts, Mrs. Milton Craighead, Mrs.- Miles Bland, Mrs. Paul Comstock, Mrs. Rudolph G. Leeds, Mrs. W. W. Gaar, Mrs. J. B. Craighead, Mrs. Florence Lodwick, Mrs. Ella Van Heusen, Mrs. Harry Holmes, Mrs. Omar Hollingsworth and Mrs. Willard Carr.
DINNER PARTY. A most charming social event for last evening was the dinner party given by Dr. and Mrs. F. V. Krueger at their beautiful new home in South Seventh street. The table was appointed with candelabra. Covers were laid for Miss Alice Knollenberg, Mr. Everard Knollenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Nusbaum, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Romey and son Master William Jr., Miss Mildred Nusbaum, Master Edward Nusbaum, Mr. and Mrs. George Eggemeyer and Miss Helen Eggemeyer. A most excellent dinner in several courses was served. After dinner the evening was spent socially and with music. One of the most attractive as well as instructive features of the evening were the views of Europe shown by Miss Alice Knollenberg, by the means of a kaleidoscope owned by Master.George Krueger.
MET MONDAY. Monday afternoon a meeting of the Dorcas society was held with Mrs. Oliver Nusbaum at her home in North Thirteenth street. The afternoon was spent socially and with needlework. 'Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Price were 'guests of the club. After the afternoon pleasures a luncheon was served. In a fortnight the society will meet with Mrs. William Seeker at her home in South Fourteenth street.

EXHIBIT NOT TO CLOSE. Tbe exhibit of beautiful paintings which has been hanging in the Art Gallery for some time and which was to hare been removed today will remain in the gallery for another week or ten days. The exhibit was to have been sent to Marion for exhibition but as the gallery is being remodelled it will be necessary to keep the pictures here for a time. Persons who have not seen the exhibit should visit the gallery.
TICKNOR CLUB. A meeting of the Ticknor Club was held yesterday afternoon with Mrs. Mary Grant at her home in South Eighth street. Mrs. Rea gave a resume of the history of Henry the Eighth in an interesting and instructive manner. In the absence of the president, Mrs. D. W. Dennis, Mrs. D. L. Mather, vice-president acted as president. This office will be filled by Mrs. Mather during Mrs. Dennis' absence from the city. The club will meet next Monday afternoon with Mrs. E. B. Grosvenor at her home in the National Road, West.
