ANNOUNCEMENT CARDS. Announcement cards reading as follows have been sent to friends in this city: Mrs. Frank Eugene Powers announces the marriage of her daughter Gladys to Mr. Roscoe W. Cook on Wednesday, the eighteenth of December one thousand nine hundred and twelve Worcester, Massachusetts At Home After February First 39 Forest Street. Mr. Cook is well known to Richmond people. He at one time resided in this city with his mother. His many friends extend hearty congratulations and wish him much happiness. Mr. George Dilks attended the wedding. He will return home Saturday.

DANCE LAST EVENING. The dance given Thursday evening In the Masonic Temple by the members of the Eastern Star was largely attended. A saxophone orchestra furnished the dance music. The party began at eight o'clock. The members and invited guests with members of the Masonic lodge were privileged to attend. During the evening a luncheon was served. The affair was in the nature of a Chrisamas party.

OF INTEREST. Mrs. D. F. Hunter of Minneapolis is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ferriday. This afternoon Mrs. Ferriday entertained a few friends informally to have them meet Mrs. Hunter. Monday Mr. and Mrs. Ferriday will leave for Wilmington, Del., to spend the holidays with Mr. Ferrtday'a relatives. Indianapolis News. The Ferridays are well known here as they formerly had a residence in Richmond.

CHRISTMAS PARTY. A most charming social event for Thursday was the Christmas party given by the members of the Woman's Collegiate club at the home of Mrs. Edgar F. Hiatt in South Eighteenth street. The event was in the nature of a "mother's party," each member bringing her mother or some older friend. The Hiatt home was beautifully decorated throughout with the Christmas decorations. The red and green predominated in all the appointmnts. The afternoon was spent socially and with needlework. During the afternoon a luncheon was served. NEW CLUB. The first meeting of the Needlecraft club was held yesterday afternoon with Mrs. Walter Helms at her home in North Seventeenth street. The house was decorated with Christmas

The afternoon was spent socially and with needlework. Late in the afternoon a luncheon was served. The members are Mrs. A. E. Schirmeyer, Mrs. Earl Ferrus, Mrs. Walter Helms, Mrs. Earnest Orr, Mrs. Mullen, Mrs. Hartsler, Mrs. O. M. Green, Mrs. Omer Wine, and Mrs. Herman Trotten. The club will meet again in a fortnight with Mrs. Orr at her home in South Tenth street.

Late in the afternoon the guests were invited to the dining room where a luncheon was' served. A center piece had been made of fruit surrounded by holly. At each place were miniature bells in the form of name cards. The club will not meet again until January sixteen, nineteen hundred and thirteen. TO ENTER SCHOOLMiss Belva Whitesell, who has been employed as bookkeeper for a local manufacturing concern, has resigned her position. The first of January Miss Whitesell will enter the Indianapolis Conservatory to study Dramatic Art.
