DECEMBER DAYS. There is no month of all the year. That holds so much of joy and cheer. That etirs -the heart, and stills all strife And brings fond joys into the life. This Is the time when Christ was born, Who brought to man the light of morn, And showed him peace instead of shame. And said "It was for this I came" 'Tia now the children plan and scheme, And go to bed at night to dream Of what to give, and what to make. And choosing what is best to take. Tho winds blow cold and snow be deep. We, warmly housed, our vigils keep, And add our gift of grateful love To help the world and God above. Km ma Ballentine.

mas. Think what that means. She says she and her husfrand are not going to exchange Christmas gifts this year, they are going to make some of the little children happy. Surely these people will have a merry, merry Christmas. I am going to publish two of the letters so that the women may have an idea of the kind of gifts that the "wee tots" are asking for. Dear Santa Clause Would like for you to bring me a few things for Christmas, i would like to have a ball, some candy, pair of stockings or anything you want to bring me so don't forget me. can play with any thing, so goodbye Santa Clause

LETTERS TO SANTA. This morning the Palladium received several letters written by little children. Some of the letters are most pathetic and.it might be well for persons who are usually occupied with social affairs to put aside self for a time and make Bome of these little people happy. Remember it isn't their fault that they are deprived things that other little people have. They have the "heart longing" just the same. None of the letters ask for extravagant things, simply, candy, clothing and other little toys so dear to the hearts of little people. If a disappointment is so great to a grown person, what must it be to a child when on Christmas morning it finds its stocking empty. Any person desiring to help Santa Claus may find the addresses of these little people by calling the society editor at 1121. Help somebody else have a "Merry ChriBtmas" and just see how much happier it will make you. The other day a woman called at the office and secured the names of two children. When she started out on her mission she found four other little people in the same neighborhood and she is going to give each child a happy Christ-

Another letter came from the country and reads as follows: Dear Old Santa I am a little girl eight years old, and

I live in the country. I go to school I every day. I can write and I i study hard. But we have all i been sick so much this winter, and it makes it very' hard. But ! dear Santa I would like to have a nice red sweatercoat, dress, mittens, and j overshoes also a head for my big doll, j Please send me some nuts and candy ; Santa. I have a little sister, age four. She wants a little broom, picure book i and a dolly. Some blacks and a red . wheelbarrow to put sand in. Please bring her a nice new hocM old Santa and a dress too if you can. We will go to bed early and be good girls. Goodbye
