C, k 0, AGENTS MEET AT CLIFTON FORGE

Charles Blair Read a Paper on the Passenger Work of the Railroad. T. A. Greenstreet, local freight agent, and C. A. Blair, local ticket agent, of the C. & O. railroad have returned from Clifton Forge, Va., where they attended the first annual meeting of the agents of the Chesapeake and Orio. Blair read a paper on the work of the pasenger department in which he called attention to the work which the department is doing and outlined improvements that can be made. The meeting was called to perfect an organization which will be known as the Railway Agents' Asociation of the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad, and its object will be to better the transportation and passenger service of the road. Sixty-five agents attended the meeting. General aMnager Grice, of the road, and other high officials were in attendance. The convention was opened with an address by the mayor of Clifton Forge. The officials living west of Clifton Forge returned home in a special train.

CORY AND LUCAS BEFORE GRAND JURY

Harry Cory and Seth Lucas, who were losers in two of the three Greensfork fire were recalled before the grand jury today by Prosecutor Allen. It was necessary to bring Lucas to the court house in a carriage as he is suffering from blood poisoning, it is said. Charles H. Myers, a member of the October term "grand jury was unable to attend today's session on account of illness.

Dr. Frank Selby, a police court frequenter, considers Friday the thirteenth very unlucky. He was arraigned in police court this morning on the charge of public intoxication and ordered to leave the city by Mayor Zimmerman. Selby is an habitual drunkard and regrets very much to leave the Quaker city where he always considered himself a welcome visitor at the county jail. He told the court he would lave.
