Of Blowing Up a Chicago Iron Works, Ortie - McManigal Stated. (National News Association) INDIANAPOLIS,, Ind., Nov. 22. Ortie McManigal, the king of the dynamiters, testified today that Herbert S. Hockins underbid some Chicago dynamiters, led by Ed Clancey, and got the job of blowing up the Iriquois steel works for $300 for local No. 1, Chicago Ironworkers. J. B. McNamara and I did the job the night of February 24, 1911. J. B. Wanted to blow up the watchman, but I objected. Local No. 1 had sent out word that It wanted the job done and Clancey said he would have it done for $500. Hockins went up to see the local and offered to make a four explosion Job of it for $300." McManigal testified that he and J. B. McNamara pulled off the explosion at the Iriquois steel works with dynamite, which they took to Chicago on the fast night train from Indianapolis. It was on this occasion that the dynamite became frozen at McManigal's home in Chicago and they put it on the radiator to thaw out. Later McManigal discovered his two children, a little boy and a little girl, playing catch with a couple of sticks of the dynamite. McManigal said he then told McNamara to take the entire outfit of dynamite and clocks over to his hotel and make the infernal machines there. McManigal also testified that after the Times explosion In Los Angeles they decided to avoid publicity by buying explosives, and subsequently stole their supplies. Over 1200 pounds of explosives was procured by theft and used In subsequent explosions. At one time, McManigal said, they had fully 1,200 pounds in the vault on the fifth floor of the Central Life building in the heart of Indianapolis. Joseph Schwartz, of Chicago, was arrested this afternoon charged with interfering with the administration of Justice. SehwartB was seen by government agents talking to 25 or 30 government witnesses and they declared he was trying to persuade them not to testify by telling them the government could not compell them to do so.

(National News Association) MEXICO CITY, Nov. 22. Reports received here today by the minister of the interior from the districts getting the full Bhock of Tuesday's earthquake gave the disaster a far more appalling extent than was at first indicated and the death list Is now placed at 1200. The towns of Acambay and Timilpa and several villages in that part of the state of Mexico were razed, vro churches at Acambay were filled with worshippers at early mass when the quake sent the structure crashing into piles of debris. Great fissures opened in the earth and a supposed extinct volcano has been shaken into life and is pouring out lava. Jacotilan and Jiquipllco in the state of Morelos were partly destroyed. Hundreds of dead lie unburied and a pestilence is feared. Fifteen thousand are homeless. There is added danger from the bands of rebels and guerillas infesting the regions. They threaten to attack any federal soldiers sent for relief work.

By the time the match bast half burned out you will find that ths bat has become soft. If yoa will then brush it vigorously with a stiff brush for a moment It will regain Its former smoothness and look as If nothing had ever marred Its surface. New Xortt Bun. Married the Family. President Kennepohl of the board of works believes that the Republican and progressive parties should unite. "These two parties are so closely
! united in principal and purpose that they should be united or the Democratic party will step in and take charge of city affairs, as it has in national affairs, when the election of municipal officers take place next fall" said the president of the board of works, speaking of the election of city officers next year. In discussing the probable candidates for mayor, Mr. Kennepohl said he expected Dr. Zimmerman would probably be the lucky candidate next year, but would advise him to run on an independent ticket. "Zimmerman can be elected easily if he runs independently," said Kennepohl. NEW TIME TABLES ON PENNSYLVANIA LINES NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24.
