A supper will be given Saturday evening in Fagan's building, the proceeds to be used to provide equippment for the firemen. Mrs. Stevenson has returned from a visit at Winchester. The regular session was held after which an oyster supper was served. The Progressive club met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Monroe Sherry at her cozy country home, north of Hagerstown. Eighteen members responded to roll call with "Autumn verses. Mrs. Fred Shumard, a new member was present. The program was carried out in full. The guests Invited to meet with the club were Mrs. Reba Rudy, of Anderson; Mrs. Frank Sherry, Mrs. Edgar Locke, Mrs. Earl Cain, Mrs. Horace Hoover, Mrs. Dave Werking and Mrs. M. T. Fox. A buffet luncheon of fried chicken, spiced cherries, pickles, hot rolls, coffee and fruit salad was served iu the dining room. The club will meet Nov. 13th with Miss Carrie Allen. Miss Esther Porter is entertaining several young people this evening at a Hallowe'en party. Mrs. James Stamm entertained at a Hallowe'en party, Thursday night in honor of her daughters, the Misses Gladys and Ruth Cromer. The following young girls wvere present to enjoy the occasion. Misses Katherine Snyder, Mabel Scott, Vivian Bennett, Bessie Doddy, Thelma Turner, Cotana Ingerman, Alice Murley, Agnes Connell, Helen Shepherd, Beulah Vance, Dorothy Hoshoir, Serena Hoshour, Marie Hofman, Hilda Hofman. The evening waa delightfully spent by all in music and games of Hallowe'en character formed the evening's amusement after the removal of masks as each came in masquerade costume which created much merriment. Nice refreshments were served. Mrs. Stamm being assisted to entertain by Mrs. Fred Murley and Miss Violet Murley. Mrs. Flora Ferguson will entertain the Priscilla club Monday afternoon. The King's Heralds met with Mrs. Jas. Stamm this afternoon. A nice progcam was observed. Sunday services at the Friends' church. Sunday school at 9:15 a. tn. Preaching morning and evening by the pastor, the Rev. Mary Mills. The sermon subject for the evening will be along temperance lines. Everybody invited. The Young People's meeting will be at the usual hour in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Will Higham and family, of south of town three miles, attended a Hallowe'en party with Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hackleman, of near Harrisburg, Tuesday evening. The company was in masquerade costume and had a happy time. The house decorations were in the Hallowe'en idea. A two course luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Huddleston attended the dancing party at Cambridge City Thursday evening. The first snow of the season fell here, yesterday afternoon. The tops of bushes and fences were white with the beautiful.
