GOVERNMENT PAYS SHERMAN TRIBUTE Many Branches to Suspend Work Saturday. Body Resting in State.

(National News Association) WASHINGTON,. Nov. 1. An executive order was issued today closing all sub treasuries, customs houses, mints, assay offices and offices of the collectors of Internal revenue tomorrow because of the funeral of Vice President Sherman. It Is thought this will result in the suspension of business by all financial and big business institutions throughout the country.

BODY LIE8 IN STATE. UTICA, N. Y., Nov. 1. The body of the late J. S. Sherman, vice president of the United States, was taken this afternoon to the court house where it will lie in state until 9 o'clock tonight. Then the body will be returned to the Sherman residence and kept there until the funeral tomorrow. An honorary escort of national guardsmen accompanied the casket to the court house where it was placed in the rotunda of the black draped building. Scores of friends and admirers of Mr. Sherman marched in the procession. The hour for viewing the body, 3 to 9 p. m. were fixed to accommodate the large number of working people who desired to show their respect for the late statesman.

RUSH TO PAY TAXES One of the biggest "rushes" of the fall tax paying period was experienced at the office of the county treasurer today. This afternoon the office was especially crowded. Monday will be the last day for paying the fall installments of taxes. Treasurer Albertson will keep his office open Monday evening for the convenience of those who will be unable to visit the office until then

The case of Elizabeth J. Edmunds versus Randall R. Edmunds, action for divorce, was dismissed by udge Fox in the Wayne circuit court this morning at the cost of the plaintiff. Inventory of the estate of the heir of James Personett, as taken by the Dickinson Trust company shows the value to be $225.98.
