EXAMINE TEETH OF YOUR SWEETHEART Fargo Dentist Claims Color of Teeth Reveals Disposition of Girls.
tNatlonal Newi Association) WASHINGTON, Sept. 14. "Girls with pink tinted teeth having a loving disposition will make good wives," declared Dr. Jacob S. Wells, a prominent dentist of Fargo, N. D., who is here attending the National Dentists' convention. "Young men would' do well if they would have their sweetheart's teeth Examined before marrying them. Those girls who have dull chalky teeth are Dot prone to love and will not as a general rule make good wives. "Girls of wifely inclinations have the pink tint just below the gums. It can be readily seen -if one will look closely. The color is in the enamel and is not, as some dentists state, an Dverchanging of the gums. "It would seem that the best course for a young man to pursue when he has doubts about the sincerity of his sweetheart is to have a dentist examine her teeth. I know one young man who did this and he found that His sweetheart had chalky teeth and Bbe loved him for his money. "These are scientific facts. No one doubts that the disposition of a person can be determined by the formation of his teeth. It is as sure a means Df determining a person's disposition s in phrenology. If you see a person with . square, white clear teeth, the chances are he or she will have a Btrong character and will come to distinction in the world." An article that has real merit should in time become popular. That such is the case with Chamberlain's Cough Remedy has been attested by many dealers. Here is one of them H. W. Hendrickson, "Ohio Falls, Ind., writes, "Chamberlain's Cough Remedy Is the best for coughs, colds and croup and is my best seller." For sale by ill dealers. CARE OF BLACK CLOTHES. How to Clean Thom Perfectly and Improve Appearance. From month to month people go on wearing black clothes and never seem to think that they require cleaning. It is enough that the dirt "doesn't show," and so one doesn't worry at .all about it being there all the time. Think how quickly soiled a white garment would be and how a . couple of days make muslin waists yeurn for the washtub, and perhaps you will realize that black, too, is ud hygienic and unclean, even when it looks all right, and much more so when It has actually the appearance of being soiled and rusty. At any time the appearance of black clothes may be greatly Improved if they are thoroughly sponged with a strong infusion of tea or qoffee, provided they are first of all wefl brushed and shaken. But they may also be washed without coming to grief. Experiment with a blouse and go on to a skirt, and you will soon see how successfully voile, serge, cashmere, lawn and cloth may be cleansed. Add a little ammonia to "lukewarm water and souse the garment, without, however, rubbing it; then take it out, squeeze but do not wring it, plunge it into cold water, then bang it dripping In the air to dry. having selected, of course, a fresh o 1 breezy day . for washing. Before beginning the procwi all stains should first be removed. The Umbrella. "Where's the umbrella I lent you yesterday?" "Jones borrowed it Why?" "Oh, nothing; only the fellow I borrowed it of says the owner has been asking for it" THE BLESSING OF MOTHERHOOD Healthy Mothers and Children Make Happy Homes ' Motherhood is woman's highest sphere in life. : It is the fruition of her dearest hopes and greatest desires; yet thousands of noble women through some derangement have been denied this blesmg. In many homes once childless there are now children because of the fact that Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound makes women normal, healthy and strong. San Antonio, Texas. Jtjj-' October 4 Inness band. f1 The Murray. Jimmie Wall, one of the "end men" at the Murray this week with Gus Sun's Minstrels, is an old time minstrel man, having been with many of the best known aggregations of this character including Primrose's and others as well known. Wall is an amusing comedian of his class and entertains his audiences vastly here this week with his travesty, "Everybody's Getting It" which "brings down the house," and calls for repeated reappearances. As the drummer-boy in the Rag Town Band he is also diverting to a degree and has, altogether, contributed much toward the successful engagement of the Minstrels this week. Sarah Bernhardt. Of the motion pictures of "Camille," which come to the Gennett next week, beginning Monday, the London "Telegraph" says: The finest star in Madame Bernhardt's crown, as all the world knows, is her "Marguerite Gauthier." Surely she never played the part more finely than now. The scenes are an essential in every liberal theatrical education. No one has ever denied her conquer ing fascination. Can one ever praise too much that wonderful last scene, its pathos and passion, its fire and tenderness, its infinitely piteous beauty? Who in our day but Madame Bern hardt has ever been so vivid? Who has had the power so to reveal the passion of the soul through the dying body's frailty? Who else could give such nerveracking physical expression to love? It is the supreme dramatic masterpiece of the ages. COAL FOR LIBRARY. Proposals to furnish coal for Mor-risson-Reeves Library will be received up to noon of Tuesday, September 17, at the Library. It Is Easily Mad and Serves Many Useful Purposes. One of the most useful agents of household economy, if rightly understood, is limewater. Its mode of preparation is as follows: Put a piece of fresh unslaked lime about the size of a half peck measure into a large stone jar and pour over it slowly and carefully (so as not to slake too rapidly) four gallons of hot water and stir again two or three times In twentyfour hours. Then bottle carefully all that can be poured off in a clear state. Limewater is often sold by druggists as a remedy for children's summer complaint a teaspoonful in a cupful of milk being a dose. When diarrhea is caused by acidity of the stomach It is an excellent remedy. When put Into milk it gives no unpleasant taste, but rather improves the flavor. When put into milk that might curdle when heated it will prevent its so doing, and the milk can then be used for puddings and pies. A little stirred Into cream or milk after a hot day or night will prevent Its turning when used for tea or coffee. It is uneqnaled In cleansing bottles for babies, as it sweetens and purines without leaving an unpleasant odor. 1 Unu. hi. 1.. It means six feet Now. I want some little girl to give me a sentence using the word 'fathom.'" Instantly a hand shot up. "Well, Mary, you may give your sentence." Mary stood up proudly. "The reason flies can .walk on the ceiling." said the observant child. "Is because they have a fathom !" "And now," remarked his cheery wife, "you are going to stand on the back porch and wave a rug beater." Cleveland Plain Dealer. and Catarrh the public an internal catarrh remedy. Peruna has been the remedy that I have devised and it has certainly relieved many thousand people, yes hundreds of thousands of people, of chronic catarrh. .Constipation was my chief difficulty in treating these cases. I often felt that it would be better If a laxative element were added to Peruna. I feared to do so, however, first because of the number of catarrhal patients who needed no laxative, and second I was afraid of making such a radical change in a remedy that was already doing so well. Thus it was that I continued to prescribe with the Peruna a bottle of Manalin to those who needed a laxative. -At last under circumstances explained in my booklet, I was constrained to add the laxative element to Peruna. This constitutes what is now known as the revised Peruna. Now those who take Peruna will, first, find themselves promptly relieved of their constipation. Second, the catarrh will gradually disappear. And once the catarrh Is cured the constipation leaves permanently. Then if you follow the advice given in my book, you will never have to take pills any more. Cathartics and laxatives you can Ignore. You will be permanently relieved of both your catarrh and the constipation. Peruna is for sale at all drug stores. 8PECIAL NOTICE Many persons are making inquiries for the oldtime Peruna. FRICTION DENIED
BY GOVERNOR D1X No Trouble Between Him and Wilson Explains the Murphy Incident. (National News Association) SYRACUSE. N. Y, Sept 14. Stories that the visit of Governor Wilson here Tuesday had been fraught with friction that resulted in his leaving the city sooner than expected, because he felt that the state organization had attempted to use' him to further the lnerests of Governor Dix and Charles F. Murphy, were met today with vigor ous denials by state and county Demo crats. The reported secret conference between Governor Wilson and Governor Dix was not secret conference at all, according to Governor Dix, who explained that it just so happened that his automobile arrived a few minutes ahead of the others and that they walked into the meeting room ahead of the others. He denied asking Wilson to support him for governor and said they simply discussed the situation. As to the published statements that Governor Wilson had declined to be photographed at the state fair grounds when he found that Murphy was alongside of him Governor Dix characterized it as foolish. He explained to a reporter that Governor Wilson had a reason for leaving them suddenly, -a reason that had nothing whatever to do with politics.
