A very pretty wedding took place Sunday noon at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Miller, when their .youngest daughter, Ruth, was united in marriage to C. E. Prettyman of Cincinnati. The wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. Blackford of Eldorado. Among the guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Prettyman of Clifton, Arizona, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Marlatt of Camden, Miss Francis Toumblty of Portland, Ind.. Miss Edith Miller of Washington, D. C, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Reld and son Harry, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reld. Miss Julia Marriman came home Monday from Richmond, where she has been visiting for a week. Miss Kathe-ine Smith is home after spending several weeks with relatives In Richmond. Her sister, Miss Eleanor accompanied her to spend the fourth. Mrs. Joseph McPherson is visiting In Redkey, Ind., and other places. Miss Kate Marriman is spending a few days In Richmond. HAGERSTOWN, IND. HAGERSTOWN, Ind., July 3. Mr. and Mrs. Wissler and daughter of Cambridge City returned home Monday evening after a visit here. Mrs. Nancy Barr of New Castle was the guest of Mrs. Shiveley and Miss Lida Taylor, Monday afternoon and night. Fred. Benson is at home from Ann Harbor University for a vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Teetor returned from Indianapolis Monday evening accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. James Scott who have took up a residence at the Capital City. Mr. and Mrs.. Dave Sells spent Tuesday with their son John Sells and family. John Harris has purchased a 1912 model runabout of the Little make, to be delivered in two weeks. Mrs. Agnes Jessup and children of Anderson are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. John Teetor. Prof, and Mrs. Clark Wissler and dauahter Mary, have arrived from New York city to spend the summer. Miss Clara ThurBton of Dayton has been visiting with, her uncle, Dr. E. H. Thurston and family. Miss Margaret Hindman of New Castk is visiting here. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller and sons and Miss Gladys Miller spent Saturday and Sunday at Richmond. Miss Nellie Brant and Mr. R. R. Brant spent Tuesday at Dayton and attended the races. Mrs. C. H. Reist of Beaumont, Texas, is visiting with her sister, Miss Edith Heiney. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Clark of Dayton are guests of Robert Miller and family. Mr. and Mrs. Will Abbott have gone to clear Lake for a two weeks vacation. Mr. Harry Lontz of Richmond visited his grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Lontz, Tuesday forenoon. The Aid Society of the Christian church will meet Tuesday afternoon of next week with Mrs. H. W. Keagy. MILTON, IND. MILTON, Ind., July 3. Mrs. W. R. Swope visited relatives at Cambridge City, yesterday. Miss Grace Gibson, after spending the week with her aunt, Mrs. Albert Sarver went to East Germantown. Miss Gibson, whose home Is at Webster, will assist in the music for Children's Day exercises at East Germantown. William Passmoxe is reported much worse. Mrs. Will Remy of Connersville, was in attendance at his bedside yesterday. The Misses lice and Pearl Napier spent Saturday afternoon with friends at Richmond. Mesdames Charles Hale, Benton Wagner and F. M. Jones were a party at dinner with Mr. and Mrs. David Parker, south of town, Sunday. Alfred Paxton and Samuel Snyder, of Dublin, attended the funeral of the ! late John Ferguson, yesterday morning. The Dublin band will play for the all day temperance picnic at the Milton school park the Fourth. Let everybody come and bring their baskets well laden. Come for all day the program will be good both morning and afternoon. Mrs. Lycurgus Beeson entertained as her guest at dinner Monday Mrs. Howard Mount, of Connersville. The Farmers bank company at Milton held its annual business meeting Monday afternoon. The following directors were elected. Lycurgus Beeson Jas. C. Mount, Cyrus O. Hurst, Nordecal D. Doddridge, Oscar KIrlin. The directors organized with Lycurgus Beeson as president and Oscar KIrlin, cashier. Elmer Weaver was elected to serve as assistant cashier. The affairs of the bank found satisfaction and a dividend was declared. Mrs. Jas. Doddridge and daughter, Mrs. Park Lanti were Richmond visitors and shoppers yesterday. ' Mrs. Ed. Myers, of Cambridge City, David Barker, Ell Beenen, E. P. Jones, Chas. Ferris, Clayton Klmmel and the Misses Dora Wallace, Mabel and Kate Voris. Nice refreshments were served. Mrs. J. M. McMahan and Walter Houseworth accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Richard Houseworth to Arcadia in the auto, Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sheppard entertained as their guests, yesterday, Mesdames Earl Burgess of Brazil and Chas. Black of Connersville. The ladies were girl friends of Mrs. Sheppard. Miss Eunice McClung entertained Monday evening in honor of Miss Jessie Lantz, who has but recently returned from Los Angeles, California. Her guests were the Misses Voris, Miriam Parkins, Lulu Faucett, Marie Snyder, Ethel Hosier, of Waynesville, Ohio, Daisy Templin of Middletown, Ohio, and Mrs. Harry Doty. The evening was delightfully spent by all and dainty refreshments were served. Messrs. Benj. Doddridge and Elmer Bertsch and the Misses Marie Elwell and Blanche Moore attended a dancing party at Jackson's park Monday evening. Mrs. H. L. Jones entertained as her guests at dinner last evening, the Misses Hubbard, of Indianapolis and Nourma Hurst. Mrs. George is reported on the sick list. Mrs. Alice Gresh entertained as her guests, this week, Miss Ruth Hubbard of Indianapolis, and Norma Hurst of southeast of Milton. On Monday evening she entertained the Misses Mildred Warren and Ruth McCormick, at tea in their honor, and in the evening she entertained the Misses Luella Lantz, Irene Crook, Esther Boroughs, Ruth Leverton, Mary Jones, Lorena Warren, Mary Sills. August Miller, Lora Beeson, Laura Rothermel, Thelma Moore and Stacy Stanley. The evening was happily spent in music. Mr. and Mrs. Will Floyd and family of Dublin attended the funeral of their relative, the late John Ferguson, Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Clinman, west of town, entertained as their guests their grandson, master Chandos Mason, of near Bentonville. Dr. I. F. Sweeney was at Richmond today to attend the Medical society picnic at Glen Miller. Jas. Clingman, of West of town and Benj. Whiteley of Cambridge City, have purchased an Ohio Hay press that is first class In every respect. Miss Mae Keever while the guest of her sister, Mrs. Clyde Miller of near Lyons station, was given a pleasant party by Mrs. Miller on Saturday evening. Her guests were the Misses Inez Stenson, " Cora Spahr, Gertrude McKetchner, Cora Ketchner, Leota Winder, Josie Lammott, Anna Lammott, Effie Plankenhorn, Effle Wright, Bernlce Wright, Mary Dickson, Cora Gates, Ruby Pressinger, Messrs. Harry Lambert, Clarence Cates, Paul Wright, Melbourne Allee, Roy Rhodenburger, Elmer Rhodenbarger, Ora Vinder, Raymond Winder, Forrest Caldwell, Simeon Kidwell, Ross Henderson, Oscar Russell, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Doddridge. The house was prettily decorated the color scheme being green and white. The evening was happily spent by all. Nice refreshments were served. The young people came from Doddridge and the neighborhood of Philomath. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ferris entertained as their guests at dinner, Sunday, Messrs. and Mesdames Carl Whitely, of Cambridge City, Porter Myers and daughter, of near Bentonville, Paul Ferris, of west of town, and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Mills and family of Straughn.
CAMBRIDGE CITY. IND. CAMBRIDGE CTY, July 3 Mrs. Hannah Hamll, of Indianapolis, came Thursday to spend a couple of weeks with her son, Henry Bladel and other relatives. John Jackson who is at the Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond for treatment is Improving. Mrs. J. C. Dodson, in writing home from Tell City to her mother, Mrs. Barbara Barefoot, states that it has rained every day since they have been there. The seventy-seventh birthday of E. R. Hastings which occurred Tuesday, was made very pleasant by his many friends remembering him on the occasion in the way of a post card shower. Mrs. E. E. Oldaker went to Henryville Thursday morning to spend a month in her old home. Senator and Mrs. Lee Gates, of Los Angeles, Cal., arrived Wednesday night, for a visit with Mrs. Clara Beeson of Dublin, and other relatives in Wayne county. Miss Mary Lahrman of Richmond is a visitor in the home of J. L. McDanlels and family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gilmore have returned to Muncle accompanied by their mother, Mrs. Lydta Huddleston, who is in ill health. Dr. J. N. Study was In Richmond Tuesday. Rufus Study gave a piano recital in Newcastle Thursday evening. Mr. Keever is a pupil of Prof. Will M. Bunch, of that city, and is regarded as being exceptionally strong In his work. T. E. Frazer was among the number in attendance Wednesday at the State Sunday school convention in Richmond. Mrs. Eliza Proctor of Maysville, Ky., is in Cambridge City, for a visit of several weeks with her sister, Mrs. Ulysses Eaton. J. C. Hageman has gone to Dayton to spend some time with her daughter, Mrs. L. D. Howe. Mrs. Mary Brown went to Centervllle, Thursday, for a week's visit with Dr. I. N. Druley and family. The Baptist Aid Society met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jacob Ingerman, north of town. The membership was well represented and a goobly amount of work accomplished. Through the courtesy of Mr. F. C. M arson, the ladles were conveyed to the Ingerman home In autos. Miss Alma Hod son went to New Castle, Thursday evening to attend the recital given by Rufus Keever. Dr. and Mrs. R. C. Leslie entertained a few friends Wednesday evening at their home on Mulberry street. The time was pleasantly spent at cards, after which a two course lunch was served. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Fronaphel, Father Shea, and his nieces, the Misses Martha and Mabel Grofford. Miss Mattie Jackson of Richmond is spending the week with Mrs. Ezra Thompson. Mrs. L. J. Brown after a visit of several weeks in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Cooley, returned Thursday to her home in New Trentotn, accompanied by her grandson. Glen Cooley, who will spend several weeks with her. Mrs. J.' C. Harr of Connersville is the guest today of Mrs. J. E. Brooks. The condition of Hazel Devon, who has been so critically ill at her "home in the north part of town, is thought to be somewhat Improved. The County Board of Review will complete their work next Tuesday, after a session of thirty days.
