STREET BRICKING COHTRACT IS LET
Trippeer & Son Will Pave West Main Street Auto Truck Accepted. The auto fire truck, built for the City by . the Robinson fire apparatus manufacturing company of St. Louts, was formally accepted by the board of words at the meeting held this morning. The bill for the new machine has not been received yet, and will not be paid until five days after it is received, as is provided by law. The question of the driver is still unsettled. Bids were received for bricking "West Main street from Fifth to Eighth street, and for the construction of a ctorm sewer beneath the street. The 'two Improvements were advertised for separately. The beet combination was made by Trippeer and Son, who bid $9.60 per lineal foot for the cement sidewalks, curbs, gutters and the brick roadway complete, and $1.25 per lineal foot for the storm sewer. This 'concern was awarded the contract. 'The bid of the Foster construction 'company was $21.00 more than the successful bid. Hooking Valley, a new vitrified brick, is to be used in improving the street. The cabinet meeting was not productive of much business. Nearly all the city depprtment heads made reports. Park Superintendent Hollarn, iTeported the receipt of the new park benches, which will be placed over the fparka of the city soon. They will be stamped by a burning iron with the Initials "R. C. P." that they may not be lost. Hollarn reported also that the (Hew lighting system at the Glen is 5n excellent working order and is giving good results, much better than the old system. President Hammond reported the new scales for the market house had arrived. The work on the construction of the cement pit at the market house will start soon, and when this Is finished, the scales' will be installed. ' The resolution calling for the opening of the west side boulevard to run from the National road south to Southwest B street, was confirmed by the board. Several property owners appeared to protest against the opening of the road, which they stated would cost them a large sum and not benefit them. The board believes the sentiment of the citizens in general Is for the opening of this boulevard, which in time is expected to run south of the city along the west river bluff. The matter may be brought to the council for final decision. Three cement alleys went through this morning. The boand adopted a resolution providing for a cement alley in the first alley north of Main street from Eighteenth to Nineteenth street. The alley south of the National road from South West Third street, west to the first alley running north and south is to be cemented. A resolution to this effect was passed. The same resolution also provides for a cement alley from the first alley south of the National road running south to outh West D street.

It is almost as hard for an old tea or coffee toper to quit as it is for a whiskey or tobacco fiend to break off, except that the tea or coffee user can quit and take up Postum without any feeling of a loss of the morning beverage.
When Postum is well made and served with cream it is really better in point of flavor than most of the coffee served nowadays. To the taste of the connoisseur it is very like the flavor of fine, mild Java.
A great transformation takes place in the body within ten days or two weeks after coffee or tea is left off and Postum used. The reason is that the poison to the nerves caffeine has been discontinued and in its place is taken a liquid food that contains the most powerful element of nourishment. It is easy to make this test and prove these statements by changing to Po6tum. Read "The Road to Wellville," in pkgs.
This pleasant morning cup strengthens and invigorates, leaving no "reaction' of shaky nerves, headaches, etc Try Postum 10 days.
