CHEMICAL BILL OF DEMOCRATS PASSED i i, Majority Uses Steam Roller on the Republicans with Great Effect.
(National News Aiaoclatloni WASHINGTON, Feb. 21. Continuing tbelr policy of tariff revision the Democrat! of the house today patted a measure providing for the revision of the chemical schedule rates. The house recently passed the Democratic rteel bill. The Democratic steam roller was in flne working order today and crushed the Republican opposition to the measure, though the minority kept up the fight to the laat. The vote was ITU to 127. The measure reduces the chemical schedule an average of thirty per cent. Rep. Dalzell, a Republican, presented a substitute bill providing for higher rates than those in the Itemocratlr measure, but the substitute wss voted down on party lines. Rep. Underwood moved to pass the Democrat!.- bill without amendment i.nd Rep. Dalzell then moved to recomit to ihe ways and means committee with Instructions to insert a number of amendments composed in the hill of the Republicans. Dalzell's motion was defeated during the debate on the bill.

Burden has filed claim for $40.50 against the estate of Philip Rrooklns, deceased. The claim is for services as nurse. O. B. Medearls has filed a claim of $2.25 against the estate of L. D. Commons.
HUNTING LOCATION . D. R. McLear has severed his connection with the Standard Merchandise Co., 820 Main street. Mr. McLear will not know for a few days Just what he will do, as he has under consideration several propositions. Some of his friends wish him to engage in business again and have offered him financial aid, but It Is difficult for him to secure a satisfactory location.
